We are looking for a part-time Copy Editor to join our editorial team to ensure all content adheres to our organization’s guidelines. You must be motivated and a savvy copy editor who can work in a fast-paced work environment.
Your primary duties will include proofreading, editing, and collaborating with teammates to deliver quality projects on time. You must be able to adhere to strict deadlines and be extremely meticulous to identify and correct errors and re-write content for a highly discerning audience.
You will work with our team to ensure that all of our content meets our brand’s guidelines and that all copy is accurate, engaging, and meets the high standards that our audience expects.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Copyedit magazine text for accuracy and grammar, plus adherence to our in-house style, while retaining the best qualities of our writers’ voices.
Perform fact-checking to ensure content is accurate.
- Check dates, document numbers, URLs, aircraft model designations, engine designations, and more.
About you
- 2+ years of copy editing experience preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in the English language.
- Know aviation terminology and acronyms.
- Ability to remain detail-oriented, focused, and self-motivated.
- Willingness to collaborate with a creative team of writers, graphic designers, and others.
- Strong word processing skills.
- Experience with Grammary Teams and Trello, a plus.
- Mastery of spelling, grammar, and punctuation and ability to make constructive suggestions.
- You must be motivated and a savvy copy editor willing to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven work environment.
This job is “work from home” with flexible hours, as long as deadlines are met. Attendance at aviation shows is encouraged.
