Tasks
The Head of Sales and Handling is responsible for:
- S/he is responsible for the operational steering of sales in the geographical area
- S/he ensures safety, security and quality of warehouse and aircraft handling activity, including negotiations with service providers and partner airlines on local level
- S/he represents the LCAG interests in the geographical area (politics, local authorities, industry and trade associations, media etc.) in consultation, where necessary, with regional/central functions
- S/he translates the global LH Cargo strategy and plans on the sales and handling side into meaningful plans and activities under the specific local circumstances
- S/he ensures connectivity of his/her country/district with the worldwide LH Cargo system
- S/he leads all LH Cargo staff in the geographical area as a disciplinary superior
- S/he manages the country/district financial tasks and adheres to the cost budget
- S/he ensures efficient and effective organization and processes / quality
Requirements
The ideal Head of Sales and Handling should meet the following requirements:
- Masters degree required.
- Business/ economics or engineering university degree desirable, preferably with emphasis on spaneting / sales, commerce and /or logistics.
- Min. 5- 8 years of relevant work experience in the logistics or airline industry.
- Good knowledge of LH Cargo’s processes and organization, and ability to connect own activities to the worldwide LH Cargo system independently. Alternatively, good knowledge of comparable international airline/ logistics industry structures.
- Excellent written and spoken English language skills required
- Knowledge of German language desirable
- Computer skills (MS Office, Excel, Word & PowerPoint)
