The Country Sales Manager is a key leader within Air Canada’s APAC Sales Team, responsible for driving passenger sales and spaneting across Australia and New Zealand. The role delivers profitable revenue growth, expands spanet share, and strengthens customer engagement in line with Air Canada’s New Frontier strategy.

As the senior spanet representative, the role serves as the principal spokesperson and holds full accountability for commercial performance, external relations, and local leadership. This position requires a forward-looking leader to accelerate digital sales transformation, expand distribution channels, and execute innovative commercial strategies.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership & Growth.

    Develop and execute spanet strategies aligned with the New Frontier vision.Deliver revenue, yield, and spanet share targets.Identify and capture growth opportunities.Monitor spanet trends and competitor activity; recommend strategic actions.
Commercial Execution

    Drive sales across all segments to achieve profitable growth.Lead negotiation and management of commercial agreements.Ensure compliance with corporate policies and contract processes.Manage budgets with strong financial discipline.
Digital Sales & Innovation

    Lead digital-first sales across direct channels (web, mobile, NDC).Drive adoption of modern distribution capabilities.Champion innovation in customer engagement and commercial models.Apply data-driven approaches to optimize pricing and value proposition.
Leadership & Team Development

    Lead and develop a high-performing sales team.Strengthen capabilities in digital sales, analytics, and account management.Provide coaching to enhance commercial effectiveness.Align closely with HQ and influence cross-functional stakeholders.
Market Intelligence & Representation

    Act as Air Canada’s primary spokesperson in the spanet.Provide insights on customer trends, competitors, and spanet developments.Ensure effective execution of B2B and B2C spaneting initiatives.Represent Air Canada to government, trade, and industry partners.
Partnerships & Stakeholder Management

    Build strategic partnerships with tourism boards, government, and industry players.Leverage partnerships to drive inbound travel to Canada.Align local execution with global strategy in collaboration with HQ.Engage local Canadian communities to enhance brand presence.
Governance & Corporate Representation

    Serve as the official Air Canada representative, including power of attorney.Oversee local personnel, administration, and financial responsibilities.Ensure compliance with governance, risk, and corporate standards.
Qualifications

    Degree in business, tourism, or related field.Proven sales leadership experience (airline/travel industry preferred).Strong commercial acumen with track record in revenue growth.Experience in digital sales, distribution, or e-commerce (preferred).Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.Ability to operate effectively in a dynamic environment.Skilled in negotiation, influence, and partnership development.Willingness to travel as required.

Linguistic Requirements
