As a Painter, you will be responsible for Bondo application bodywork, applying high build primers to fiberglass surfaces, and accurately mixing and applying paint and clear coat applications using gravity feed spray guns. This role requires proficiency in color matching, masking delicate areas, and performing quality checks to ensure a flawless finish on aviation interior and exterior composite and metal parts. The finishes should be equivalent to high-end custom vehicles. You will maintain a clean and organized work area within the paint booth, adhering to safety regulations. Proficiency in using various painting tools and equipment, including spray guns, sanders, and mixing equipment, is essential. Adhering to safety procedures regarding hazardous materials like paint fumes and proper use of personal protective equipment is crucial.

• Apply Bondo and high build primers to fiberglass surfaces.
• Mix and apply paint and clear coat applications using gravity feed spray guns.
• Perform color matching and mask delicate areas.
• Conduct quality checks to ensure flawless finishes.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area within the paint booth.
• Follow safety regulations and procedures for handling hazardous materials.

• Proficiency in painting, spray gun use, and sanding.
• Experience with paint booth operations and sandblasting.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings for surface applications.
• Understanding of mixing ratios and techniques.
• Experience in repairing and blending paint and clear coat imperfections.

• 2+ years of experience in the field or a related area.
• Knowledge of commonly used practices, concepts, and procedures for priming and painting aerospace or automotive products.
• Preferred skills in PPG Envirobase Waterborne paint systems.
• Ability to cut and buff clear coat applications.

The work environment is indoors, primarily inside a spray bay. The schedule is from 6:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Antonio, TX.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
