ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Works from established procedures and/or special instructions to assemble multi-section dies, including soluble wax inlays or other inserts. Applies liquid and dry release agents and clamps as necessary. Positions assembled die and injects following established procedure. Disassembles die, removes and checks pattern for completeness and correctness of injection in compliance with specified dimensions. Within accepted limits vary dwell, injection pressure, temperature or other factors as necessary to obtain acceptable pattern; notifies supervision of unusual condition. Chills dies as required to avoid overheating. Disposes of acceptable patterns as directed. Obtains own liquid and powdered release agents from storage areas.
- Detects and reports improper operation, low work levels, and any unusual conditions to proper supervision.
- Inspects parts using visual and dimensional techniques, i.e. calipers straight edge, etc. and sketches.
- Ability to dimensionally inspect parts using calipers, straight edge, sketches, etc.
- Performs a variety of other duties and tasks of equal or less complexity as assigned by supervisor.
SPECIAL SKILLS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
