Are you ready to play a crucial role in shaping the future of aviation? Joby is seeking a Technical Trainer to champion and elevate our aircraft manufacturing training programs. As a driving force behind standardizing, documenting, and leading training activities, you will be at the forefront of ensuring our teams are equipped with the skills and knowledge to build the future of air transportation through preparing technicians for OJT thru area-specific hands-on knowledge, skills, and continuous improvement training.
Responsibilities
- Deliver core knowledge training as needed
- Deliver general skills training (e.g., how to hand-sand composite parts, how to bond parts, how to hand layup, etc.)
- Deliver continuous improvement applied training (e.g., 4S, standard work, built-in-quality, etc.)
- Coordinate with external vendors to support technical training needs
- Ensure that technical training content, processes, and procedures are in compliance with published training standards
- manage and maintain technical training records
- Develop technical training curricula based on existing work instructions, SOPs, and training content
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including subject matter experts, engineers, and production leaders, to incorporate practical, hands-on experiences into technical training programs.
- Coordinate and manage costs, and equipment for technician and quality inspector training
- Continuously assess the effectiveness of training programs and make recommendations to address evolving industry requirements and feedback from trainees.
Required
- 3+ years of experience executing against and/or developing manufacturing work instructions (MWIs), standard operating procedures (SOPs), and/or other technical documentation
- Strong instructional and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly and in an engaging manner
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to mentor and guide individuals from diverse backgrounds and skill levels
- Effective organizational skills to manage training schedules, materials, records, and documentation
- Experience managing successful projects from inception to completion
Desired
- Bachelors degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Materials Science, Training, Instructional Design, or a related field
- Experience designing, implementing, enhancing, and delivering training programs in a manufacturing, production, or similar environment
- Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS) and/or other training software
- Experience as a technical writer
- Experience designing standardized training systems
- Experience in aerospace, composites, or electronics manufacturing
Compensation at Joby is a combination of base pay and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). The target base pay for this position is $66,560- $89,400 per year salary. The compensation package will be determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
