Job Summary
The intern will be introduced to the Environmental Department, working in the area of sustainability. The intern will receive hands-on experience by participating in field inspections, and assisting in creation and/or implementation of various sustainability initiatives at Pittsburgh International Airport and Allegheny County Airport.
Here is how the Sustainability Intern will help:
- Engage in current recycling program evaluations to improve and increase diversion rates.
- Coordinate with various departments to collect data for enhancing fuel efficiency.
- Analyze water usage to increase operational sustainability.
- Update and maintain various Environmental Systems field features in GIS.
- Assist with carbon accounting data collection for reporting in the Airport Carbon Accreditation program.
- Collaborate on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives and support implementation.
- Participate in Sustainability Committee Meetings and identify potential projects.
- Perform other related tasks as assigned or required.

Qualifications
Requirements to apply for role of Sustainability Intern are:
- Must currently be enrolled in school as an undergraduate from an accredited four-year college or university in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Engineering, Geology, Sustainability, or a related field.
- Must maintain a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.0 or greater.
- Possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid driver’s license. Note: License must be maintained throughout employment.
