Job Description:

Tasks

Support Staff (B1/B2) are authorized by the Quality Manager to certify completed maintenance in the ‘Control Check’ box. They assist the Area Leader in aircraft maintenance and may oversee other personnel working on the aircraft.

  • Supervise maintenance tasks assigned
  • Support Area Leader in training, development and induction and deputise when necessary
  • Perform assigned maintenance work per company procedures
  • Manage parts, tools, and engineering queries
  • Offer recommendations and solve issues with the Area Leader
  • Certify work in technical documentation
  • Maintain cleanliness and ensure adherence to safety regulations
  • Ensure efficiency in daily work and time management
  • Liaise with other departments to manage schedules, issues and TAT
  • Liaise with aircraft representatives and manage project costs
  • Meet targets/KPIs and ensure timely customer satisfaction
  • Ensure compliance with safety, health and environmental policies
  • Foster a culture of safety and compliance
  • May perform senior duties, travel, or take on additional tasks as needed

Requirements

 

  • Hold EASA Part 66 B1/B2 licence with Aircraft Types endorsed (A320/A330/A340/A350/B787)
  • Remain current on the aircraft types endorsed on EASA Part 66 licence and companyauthorization
  • Able to communicate effectively in English both written and verbally
  • Able to collect and process information, solve problems and take decisions
  • Have attained and remain current of all other prerequisites as required by the Companyprocedures in order to obtain and keep the necessary authorisations issued by thecompany Quality Manager
  • Demonstrated ability to proactively identify and implement innovative solutions in anagile environment, adapting quickly to changing demands and continuously improving processes
  • Be computer literate
  • Be a team player and understand and support the Company’s vision and business objectives

About Lufthansa Technik Malta Ltd

Lufthansa Technik Malta Ltd. (LTM) was established in 2003 as a joint venture between Lufthansa Technik AG (92) and Air Malta (8). The MRO service provider (Maintenance, Repair, Overhaul), based at Malta International Airport in Luqa, provides its customers with line and base maintenance services for short haul and long haul aircraft in the Airbus A320/A330/340/350 series. Initially specializing in C Checks and comprehensive aircraft modifications, the company has now significantly expanded its service portfolio following the construction of a 64,000 square meter hangar complex. The spectrum of services offered has grown to encompass extensive maintenance work with wide ranging capabilities including structural and composite fibre repairs, complex testing procedures and comprehensive cabin refits. The 600 strong workforce can work on up to three long haul aircraft or five medium and long haul aircraft at any one time in the new hangar complex, expanded to cater for wide body aircraft. The hangars are used primarily for C Checks and aircraft overhauls. Lufthansa Technik Malta also collaborates with the renowned Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology (MCAST) for the purpose of training and apprenticeship schemes. The strategically favorable location in the Mediterranean region of southern Europe, with its proximity to Africa and to the Arabian Peninsula, gives Lufthansa Technik Malta a special role within the Lufthansa Group. Twenty years after the companys founding and with more than 2,000 checks carried out, the high quality standards, cost efficiency and the shortest possible turnaround times places the Malta facility at the forefront of the MRO industry.
