The Security Advisor is responsible for ensuring compliance with all Defence security requirements. This includes all aspects of security governance, personnel security, physical security, information security and supply chain security.
- Ensure the company’s facilities, people, official information and security assets are protected from unauthorised access, sabotage, wilful damage, theft or disruption through a safe and secure physical environment.
- Review and monitor compliance with the Defence Security Principles Framework (DSPF) and the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF), ASIO Tech Note, SEEPL and act as the business SME for all certification and accreditation for classified areas
- Develop, implement, and manage the company’s physical security compliance and maintenance schedule for all existing and future facilities
- Lead and conduct all security related audits and inspections to ensure adequate security protection systems (CCTV, access control, alarms and security containers) are identified, in place, regularly serviced and maintained in support of the company’s DISP membership
- Oversight of the company’s security zones to ensure they are compliant with the appropriate level of hardware and infrastructure to process, handle and store security-protected assets
- Provide SME input to all new infrastructure projects requiring security zone accreditation
- Identify and manage physical security risks
- Manage and plan all security requirements for events and VIP visits
- Liaise with and manage security contractors (SCEC consultants, locksmiths and electronic access control systems technicians) in the delivery of security services
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
- Requires a Tertiary qualifications in Security Risk Management, or equivalent experience with advanced understanding of Defence security protocols and procedures, such as the Defence Security Principles Framework.
- Defence Security Officer course (completed within the last three years).
- An understanding of ASIO Technical Note 1/15 – Physical Security of Zones is required and demonstrated experience in the security accreditation process for physical spaces would be advantageous.
- Desirable - Accessing and Protecting Official Information training and Defence Security & Risk Management course.
- Desirable - experience in the operational use of IT systems such as the Defence Protected Network.
- Successful candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting Level 2 security clearance as needed. Eligibility can be found at http://www.defence.gov.au/agsva
