Title: Senior Engineer Product Data and Configuration BoM Management
Rate: 46.21 umbrella rate
Determination: Inside of IR35
Work Set Up: 2 days per week at BAE Scotstoun 3 days remote
Contract length: 12 months

Assist in the co-ordination, implementation, management and delivery of the RCD Integrated Bill of Material (iBoM)

Participate in the development, deployment and ‘policing’ of a shared BOM delivery solution with the customer (ISI). This being achieved through the setting out of BOM related Digital, Data and Cyber solution requirements, testing of the developed solution and managed of the solution thereafter.

Collaborate in the development, delivery and management of a revised iBOM Dataloader solution based on the current GCS solution and RCD specific requirements to ensure the effective capature of Vendor Furnished BoM information.

Assist in the development of applicable and appropriate metrics to measure the status and performance of the RCD BoM across both the BAES NS RCD Programme and the BAES NS / ISI BOM Interface

Major Tasks and Activities:

• Bill of Material Management: Assist in the overall co-ordination of the RCD Bill of Material (BoM).
• Participate in definition of joint BAES NS and ISI rcd BOM composition / definition
• Working with RCD Change Team assit in implementation of authorised changes to the RCD BOM
• Assist in setting out the Bill of Material, Data Management processes and policies and align this with RCD specific requirements
• Assist in the development and setting out of Digital Toolset development requirements for the transfer of the RCD BOM from BAES NS to ISI
• Provide guidance, training and support to applicable programme team members working with the RCD BOM and wider project guidance to ensure effective BOM Management.
• Liaise and collaborate with the PLM CC and IM&Tteams deployed to support RCD BOM solution.
• Assist in evelopment and deliveryof key RCD BOM quality indicators / metrics

Additional Key Accountabilities:

• Assit in technical coordination of the testing and sign off of all RCD BOM Toolset solutions
• Assist in provision of technical input to the RCD Product Data and Configuration Reporting Lifecycle

Key Technical Skills:

• An in-depth understanding of the GCS iBoM process
• Experience with improving the use of CAD/PLM/PDM/ERP toolsets e.g. PTC toolsets (Windchill), Aveva ERM etc.
• Understanding of product information management principles
• Ability to work closely with other domains to integrate the necessary controls to manage the product information
• Experience in PLM and Data processes and systems
• Understanding of key systems engineering principles and integrity of information
• Basic project management and stakeholder management skills.
• Knowledge of warship or large platform (System of Systems) design processes and inter-relationships and design delivery would be advantageous.
