Position Summary
The Production Technologist will ensure that the products are tested according to production and quality standards thereby meeting or exceeding customer’s expectation on Quality, Timeliness, Cost and Reliability.
Responsibilities
• Troubleshoot and repair failed products• Share feedback on defect information with Production Assemblers in a timely manner• Help set up test work stations for production assemblers as outlined in the test procedures• Provide technical support for all products tested in assigned areas• Act as primary interface with Test Engineering to investigate and resolve test and fixture problems• Fill out daily In-Process Test Reports (IPTR’s) for all products being tested and the Defect Reports for all products being repaired• Evaluate (test and troubleshoot) customer returns for warranty applicability and root cause• Train production staff on new test equipment, products and procedures• Able to work shift work• Able to be on-call (including weekends)
Qualifications
• Two-year Diploma in Electronic, Computer and Electrical Technology or equivalent experience/training• Good understanding of current electronic design practices and technology• Good understanding of computer applications • Excellent verbal and written communication skills• Excellent problem-solving capabilities• Experience with National Instruments LabView and TestStand would be an asset.
