General purpose of the Position
The general purpose of the Brake Operator is to produce products using the Brake and Roll
Major Work Functions and Desired Outcomes
- Ability to read and understand blueprints
- Ability to read and use calipers and other measuring equipment
- Ability to set up tooling on a brake
- Understanding of sheet metal bending practices
A Brake Operator at GCA must be able to perform the following essential functions:
- Operate each of the brakes
- perform tool setups
- Read blueprints
- Have a basic understanding of sheet metal bending
- Understanding brake operations
- Understanding roll operations
- Operate a shear
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Experience
- Competencies/Knowledge: Basic sheet metal bending
- Skills: Must be able to perform basic math
- Personal Characteristics: Must be willing and able to work as a team player, follow instructions, and demonstrate a strong work ethic to help the company grow in the field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in brake forming and rolling
- Technical school training in brake operations
Physical and Environmental Requirements
Must be able to lift 50 lbs multiple times throughout the day in a manufacturing environment.
