As our Occupational Health Nurse, youll play a pivotal role in safeguarding employee wellbeing, ensuring compliance with critical regulations, and fostering a healthier, safer workplace. We are currently have a role available on a 13-month fixed-term contract.

How you’ll make an impact
- Lead the delivery of a comprehensive occupational health advisory service focused on fitness for work, health promotion, and regulatory compliance
- Provide expert clinical assessments and surveillance, reporting and addressing concerns proactively to maintain workplace safety
- Advise employees and management on occupational health matters, ensuring best practices and timely resolutions
- Oversee accurate and timely record-keeping for CAA NZ pilot medical procedures in collaboration with the Aviation Medicine Adviser
- Manage the Air New Zealand Alcohol and Other Drugs testing programme, ensuring strict compliance and accurate documentation
- Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities to enhance workplace health programmes and reduce business risks
- Collaborate with service providers, ensuring delivery standards meet our high expectations.
What we’re looking for
- Registered General Nurse with a current NZNC Practising Certificate
- NZ recognised tertiary qualification in Occupational Health or working towards this or related work experience as an Occupational Health Nurse
- Proven ability to manage occupational health programmes and compliance
- Strong understanding of health surveillance and fitness for work assessments
- Excellent communication skills with experience advising diverse stakeholders
- Strong understanding of the Safety Sensitive Role and how that effects how we return clients back to work or employ them into that workspace
- Strong IT skills and a solid understanding of working with dedicated patient management platforms
- Proven ability to manage compliance programmes, ideally within the aviation sector or other highly regulated industries.
