Basic Qualifications and Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required
  • Must also have a degree in Tool and Die Technology or have at least two years’ experience in a machine shop type environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Work across all teams to assist in production, trouble shooting, training, preliminary review, and incoming material issues.
  • A primary function of this role is to operate computer numerically controlled equipment, support production by working on the line, engaging with engineering, maintaining planning and quality requirements, cycle time reduction, product flow, workstation design and tooling, material handling, tool cleaning across multiple production teams, and EHS and support the team wherever necessary.
  • Navigate automated work cells to return to operation and support repair teams.
  • This role maybe responsible for training production associates, providing one over one for production associate, assisting to track OJT process for production associates, assisting production in aligning production goals to maximize training opportunities, programing basic equipment, training production associates on use of equipment, troubleshooting new equipment, and other various duties depending on the area in the shop floor.
  • In addition, this role will assist the team in production scheduling, inventory control, simple preventive maintenance of machinery, and other roles within this team-based environment.
  • Associates will participate on teams to identify and implement process improvement opportunities to improve quality and product flow.
  • To perform the essential functions of this job, an individual is regularly required to stand for majority of the shift and work in a fast-paced production environment.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Strong attention to detail
  • Assist in data analysis
  • Flexibility to team across any area in your line as needed
  • Collect data for First Time Yield projects as directed.
  • Active CVP certification.
  • Competent in use of measuring equipment (Gages, Calipers, Inspection Reports, etc…)
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints (including GD&T)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interface with all levels of the organization
  • Support Process Specialist in Root cause corrective action duties.
  • Ice blasting and or hand cleaning production tools
  • Assist the CNC programmer with startup with programs and recovery from machine errors
  • Changing production fixtures
  • Keep inventory of production tools (cutters) in the tooling cabinet and order through the onsite vendor when necessary
  • Restart robots after faults and crashes
  • Support production/quality with first article test parts
  • Manually check tool heights and load into machines as necessary

Desired:

  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Degree in Tool and Die Technologies or 2 years in a machine shop type environment
