Machine Setter Trainee

Job Description:

INTERNAL APPLICATIONS ONLY

Produce machined parts by setting and operating CNC lathes, Vertical and Horizontal milling/routing machines whilst maintaining quality and safety standards.
•tDownload programs from the file server
•tSetup and run CNC machining centres
•tProve out new NPI programs
•tUse Verniers and other inspection equipment to meet tolerance requirements stipulated in engineering drawings
•tPerform daily / weekly maintenance tasks in accordance with Machine Centre maintenance plan
•tMaintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
•tParticipate in continuous improvement activities
•tComplete all necessary paper work as required
•tWork with Production Manager & programming team seeking opportunities to improve processes and reduce cycle times
•tSupport team colleagues
•tMaintain good housekeeping in accordance with 5S processes and practices
•tTake responsibility for own quality of output
•tPerform other tasks as reasonably requested by Production Manager / Manager

Job Requirements:

Pro-active individual with a positive attitude
Quality focused with a keen eye for detail, prepared to promote and participate in continuous improvement activities.
Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work with a multi-disciplined team including engineering, leadership and wider APU functions.
Flexible in approach to work, prepared to undertake other reasonable duties in line with business requirements
HSE aware and safety focused, prepared to maintain a clean and safe environment in line with required standards.
