QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION: High School Diploma or Equivalency

EXPERIENCE: Minimum 1 year as a Fixture Technician or equivalent

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Vision-sight, cannot be color-blind, reading, writing, above average math aptitude (Basic algebra and trig ability), dexterity, depth perception, problem solver, self-motivated, be able to read and interpret dimensional drawings measuring skills and test equipment knowledge, speaking English, and knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.

In addition to training and experience hours, anyone applying to a layout position shall pass (70 or above) a preliminary aptitude exam approved by the departmental manager/supervisor.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

• Responsible for 100 first article casting layouts & delta layouts
• Quarterly equipment calibrations plant wide
• Be able to identify all types of casting defects
• Assist in correcting non-conforming casting with scribe lines to bring suspect features or surfaces within blueprint tolerances for location and size.
• Must be able to accurately use all types of MTE (height gages, micrometers, verniers, dial indicators, etc.)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Lift up to 50 lbs. at waist level and up to 50 lbs. at shoulder level on a frequent basis when moving products
• Push or pull with up to 80 lbs. of force on an occasional basis when moving products
• Generate up to 80 lbs. of grip strength on an occasional basis with each hand while handling products
• Generate up to 15 lbs. of pinch strength on an occasional basis with each hand while handling products
• Display average coordination with both hands on a continuous basis while performing job tasks
• Perform elevated work on an occasional basis when handling products
• Stoop, kneel or squat on an occasional basis when handling products
• Reach forward and to the side on a frequent basis when handling products
• Stand on a continuous basis and walk on a frequent basis during the course of each shift
• Able to perform repetitive tasks up to 12 hours per day
