The incumbent will be responsible for the compliance of all regulatory requirements for all of Transat ATs subsidiaries and for coordinating the companys entire health and safety file. He will act as a consultant for the prevention, implementation and updating of all mandates related to Health Safety.
Responsibilities
- Participate in the various OHS committees as provided for in the Canadian Labor Code Part 2 monitoring the actions identified in the committees:
- Responsible implementing and updating COVID-19s case management protocol
- Act as an expert to ensure the health and safety of employees in COVID-19 times;
- Sit on the SST NACC committee as well as the FETCO committee;
- Build and implement health and safety prevention programs;
- Act as an expert, exercise an advisory role and provide rigorous Health and Safety support to managers and union representatives;
- Influence managers and employees to adopt practices that foster a culture of prevention in the workplace
- Follow-up with managers to ensure programs are implemented, known and respected by all employees
- Responsible for enforcing existing provisions and changes to health and safety laws and regulations
- Write and update Health and Safety policies and procedures
- Write the HRDC annual report;
- Prepare audits, monitor corrective actions and support managers;
- Statistical analysis;
- Follow-up of accident investigations;
- Develop training for managers and health and safety committee members on topics such as legal rights and obligations and the conduct of work accident investigations;
- Lead the project to develop a cosmic radiation exposure monitoring program for flight crew personnel
- Ensure the workplace risk prevention program is in place;
- Act as an expert on the new Coruson system (security and IDR reports);
- Work in close collaboration with the Cabin Safety Director.
