Diesel-GSE TechnicianJob Description
We are seeking skilled GSE Technicians to join our team. The primary role involves performing preventative maintenance on a wide range of ground support equipment, including tugs, pushbacks, and belts. The position requires a basic set of hand tools and entails up to 90 preventative maintenance tasks such as oil changes and brake jobs. The fleet is aging, and there will be an increasing focus on handling equipment breakdowns.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance on up to 600 pieces of ground support equipment.
- Execute basic maintenance assignments involving automotive, electrical, and other related trade skill sets.
- Take direction and seek guidance from mechanics, accepting training and mentoring.
- Read and interpret repair manuals, basic electrical and hydraulic schematics, and supervisor/manager instructions.
Essential Skills- 2+ years of experience as a mechanic (diesel, auto, hydraulics).
- Experience in diagnostics, troubleshooting, engine maintenance, and brake changes.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Clean driving record.
- Must provide own basic set of hand tools.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Experience with heavy equipment, farm equipment, and diesel engines.
- Hydraulic experience.
- Engine diagnostics and maintenance skills.
- Ability to perform tire technician duties.
- Flexible schedule and shift availability.

Work Environment
Work in a typical shop environment located in the cargo area of the airport. A SIDA badge is required, and technicians will be driving on the tarmac. Be prepared for 8-10 hours of work per week, with more hours common in the fall and winter. Tools are required, and a list will be provided. Must be open to working holidays, although typically only a few volunteers are needed.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00
