4th shift Foundry Operator
Title: Foundry Furnace Helper
Status: Hourly
Shift: 4th, 6:30AM-6:30PM
Positions Available: 2
Reporting Relationship: Reports directly to the Foundry Area Manager
Location: Mentor/Painesville
Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, and may be substituted by experience.
Personal Characteristics: Able to meet deadlines and be accountable for quality/ quantity. Able to work flexible hours with a history of dependability as demonstrated with strong attendance record. Comfortable using a team approach to problem solving. Have strong sense of urgency. Individual must be a motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently. Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that gets along with customers, clients, co-workers and supervisors.
Principal Area of Responsibility: The foundry furnace helper will train to perform the necessary operations of a Vacuum Casting Technician.
Specific Duties:
Must be able to operate all vacuum furnaces - equiax, D.S. and single crystal - and be able to accurately record all necessary information.
Ram crucibles on all furnaces, change over on D.S. susceptors/coils and melt coils.
Perform all responsibilities of the furnace helper.
Must be able to perform all duties according to S.O.P.’s, Engineering Procedures and Special Lot Instructions.
Meet the specific requirements of the efficiency standards.
Ensure that the Foundry Department’s high standard of housekeeping is met.
Maintain thorough knowledge of all production processes and materials.
Organize work for smooth operations. Ensure that required documentation is maintained.
Perform other duties as designated the supervisor.
Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that gets along with customers, clients, co-workers and supervisors.
Any and all additional responsibilities as required or assigned.
