Jet Midwest is a full-service commercial aviation company, specializing in the sale and lease of commercial aircraft, engines, and parts as well as aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul services to the aviation industry. This position is located at the Kansas City International Airport Area, in the former TWA Overhaul Base facility. We are looking for a motivated, high-energy team member to join our Materials Operations Team.
Position Description:
Title: Facilities Maintenance Technician
Status: Full Time
Department: Materials Operations
Summary:
The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for the inspection, repair, maintenance, and overhaul of aircraft support equipment. The Technician will also make repairs in the facility related to but not limited to plumbing, electrical, general carpentry, fabrication and concrete repairs. You must be able to work at heights out of a boom lift or scissor lift. You will also operate forklifts as needed. You will have work orders assigned to you and you will complete the work orders using our programs and software.
The ideal candidate for this role will have a broad understanding of multiple trades including plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and carpentry. Candidate must work well as a team and communicate well with others.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities included, but limited to:
- Ensure Jet Midwest facilities and equipment are maintained at a high level of operational readiness and safety
- Ensure top-notch support and assistance with maintenance tasks
- Support team with daily work assignments, vendor communication, work ticketing system, grooming and progress reporting, preventive maintenance checklist reviews, and related tasks
- Perform inspections, preventive maintenance, and corrective maintenance on the facility, included but not limited to, ground support equipment, company tooling, safety equipment, and building systems
- Work from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs to install, maintain, or repair the same
- Operate motorized lift equipment such as scissor lift, forklift, etc.
- Perform and support hot work/welding and fabrication tasks

Education & Experience:
- A high-energy personality and desire to learn and grow quickly
- Excellent communication skills
- Equally comfortable self-directing or working as part of a team to ensure tasks are completed
- Basic math and measurement skills
- Worked with a CMMS/Work ticketing systems
- Strong knowledge of safety, OSHA, Hazmat, and Environmental Health Hazards
- Experience working in an older facility
- A High School Diploma or equivalent
- Have experience performing systems maintenance and troubleshooting on industrial equipment
- Have 0-1 years of experience and knowledge of the following:
- Overhead garage doors maintenance
- Reading schematics, drawings, hydraulic and wiring diagrams
- General carpentry
- Warehouse shelving installation and maintenance
- Gantry cranes, rigging, and lifting
- Hot work/welding
- Steam heating systems
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
While performing the responsibilities of Facilities Maintenance Technician, you will be performing work in a variety of interior and exterior conditions and will be required to wear appropriate safety equipment (may include respirators). The job will require the ability to frequently bend, reach, left, climb stairs/ladders and/or work high off the ground, stand, or walk for extended periods of time, work in tight/closed-in spaces, grasp tools and parts, and crouch/or crawl. At times, some lifting may be required, up to 50 lb.
