As a Facilities Maintenance Technician at StandardAero-Houston, you will perform routine upkeep, maintenance, and facilities repairs to preserve and enhance our building, equipment, vehicles and tools. This position requires a talented craftsman who can work independently to support the facility and aircraft maintenance operations. The Facilities Maintenance Tech is also accountable for EPA/OSHA responsibilities, including hazardous waste storage and disposal for materials used in aircraft maintenance and engine repair.
What you’ll do:
- Repair and maintain our facilities including hangars, work areas, offices and industrial equipment
- Automotive repair and routine vehicle maintenance for periodic upkeep of our small fleet of vehicles
- Removes refuse and hazardous waste in compliance with EPA standards and codes.
- Responds to emergency maintenance requests from all employees throughout the facility.
- Conducts safety checks for fire equipment, tooling, and environmental programs.
- Assist with production by fabricating support structures and jigs to assist mechanics.
- Utilize your wide range of skills involving Plumbing, Carpentry, Electrical, Painting, Basic cleaning, Fabrication, and Basic welding (TIG) to support our operations.
Basic Qualifications
- Previous experience with carpentry, electrical, plumbing, automotive care, and HVAC in a commercial or industrial setting.
- A minimum of four (4) years experience performing facilities/vehicle maintenance in a professional setting.
- Must be able to be 24-hour HAZWOPER certified within 6 months of hire.
- Basic knowledge of EPA HAZMAT control and handling.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- TIG welding experience
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Read and interpret maintenance manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams, and blueprints
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions when exterior work is required
- Demonstrate mechanical and troubleshooting aptitude in an industrial setting.
- Able to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Comfortable working at heights when needed to maintain aircraft hangars.
