JOB PURPOSE
The role holder is responsible for the design and production of digital learning solutions to meet training
needs of the business. Responsibilities will include conducting training needs analysis based on agreed
curricula or company manuals, designing appropriate instructional solutions, planning development of the
online solution (across various platforms), and supporting the content development process to meet
defined project deadlines.

Execute
- Recommend Learning Approach: to determine and recommend the appropriate learning approach and delivery medium to be used for assigned projects based on information attained during the needs analysis phase and document the rationale for the format selected.
- Create and Design Online Content: Plan and produce designs for online learning materials using instructional systems design processes to develop courseware (across multiple platforms). Apply the appropriate learning theory, instructional theory, and/or applications of media to instructional scenarios, structuring the courses into meaningful sections and arranging them into a logical hierarchy or sequence. Determine the overall mix of media required to deliver the online content whilst engaging Digital Learning Coordinator. Determine the hardware and software environment required for the delivery of the instructional strategy. Work closely with the Digital Experience Production Partners and Multimedia Partners to produce effective learning solutions.
- Develop and Test Online Content: Ensure the instructional integrity of content development through systematic design and clear writing of scripts, narratives, storyboards, and templates. Provide appropriate interaction and feedback and develop test items to adequately cover and accurately measure the achievement of learning objectives. Testing of all learning content across multiple platforms. Liaise with the broader Digital Experience Team, IT and partner providers to ensure the accessibility and smooth running of digital learning solutions.
- Measurements and Standards: to develop and maintain standards for instructional design and conduct quality assurance on instructional materials. Work with Digital Learning Coordinator to ensure all learning content is managed, archived, and updated in line with agreed policies and procedures.
- Support and guidance for Training Units: Provide guidance if required in the application of instructional design and the use of technology in the delivery of training. To plan, develop, and teach development workshops and other activities in areas of instructional design and the use of specific learning technology tools. Support the creation and publication of informational training materials such as newsletters, blogs, and toolkits. Create and manage the knowledge repository.
- Research and Development: Conduct targeted research to develop the instructional design of interactive activities, simulations, animations, videos, and other course components to maximise learning engagement.
- Maintain Courseware: Identify areas of weakness in courses based on measurement and feedback defined at the analysis stage and to implement improvements in the materials. To liaise with colleagues to ensure that all materials are documented accurately in the core curriculum mapping and reflected accurately in the learning management system and other platforms.
