The Cybersecurity Strategic Architect is a front-line manager responsible for a layered team of Cybersecurity Tactical Architects that partner with Digital Technology and Engineering to align capabilities and segment architectures across hundreds of information systems. Each day you will directly contribute business and mission success by providing strategic guidance to Information System Security Managers, Mission Area Leads, Cybersecurity Officers, and System Integrators to drive technical standards, establish baselines, reduce technical debt and enhance Raytheon’s engineering and scientific capabilities. Our cybersecurity architects must be innovative, humble, problem solvers who can think “inside” of the box by carefully balancing innovation, sustainability, security. This will require methodical judgment and effective oral/written communication.
This job will be on-site in either McKinney, TX, or Huntsville, AL.
Responsibilities to Anticipate
Conducts briefings, presentations for multiple levels of the business
Provides and maintains Subject Matter Expertise (SME) on designated tools supporting the RMD standard solution/tools portfolio
Provide strategic direction with ability to drive technological innovation
Manages a team of Tactical Cyber Architects dispersed across several RMD locations
Collaborates with other architecture teams to design and develop secure compliant technical solutions for deployment
Conducts technical solution evaluation for new technology; conducts gap analysis and risk evaluations of new capabilities
Provides expert technical advisement and support of Customer discussions, negotiations, approval requests and other tasks as needed
Ensure efficiencies, cost offsets and savings are captured by the Architecture team to enable competitive advantage
Provides oversight and leadership of Cybersecurity projects and initiatives inclusive of cost-benefit and risk management analysis
Supports enterprise and business initiatives to drive technological evolution of supported programs
Supports the Organization’s vision, strategy and goals
Business travel as needed up to 20
IMPORTANT NOTE: Within six months of hire date, you must obtain and maintain a Security professional certification commensurate with a DoD 8570.01-M IAM level III certified credentials (CISSP, CISM, GSLC or CCISO), if you do not already have this certification.
Qualifications You Must Have
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems Management, Management Information Technology, Criminal Justice, Business, STEM, or other degrees will be considered
Eight (8) years of directly related Cyber/Systems Security or Network Architecture / Technology experience.
An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for two additional years of experience as follows.
Experience understanding and implementing compliance regulations such as NISPOM, DAAPM, JAFAN, ICD, FAA, HIPAA, and/or other government regulations/requirements
Active and transferable U.S. government issued SECRET security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Value
Experience with change management or architectural governance
Experience as a team leader, program manager, or product manager
Familiarity with RMD locations and Information System practices and landscape
Experience with resource management, professional development, and mentoring personnel
Ability to tailor technical discussion to various audiences, create security whitepapers and concept of operations
Experience with information security COTS applications (i.e. endpoint security, security information and event management, vulnerability management, encryption, antivirus)
Experience with project management and collaboration tools (i.e. SharePoint, MS Project)
Understanding of enterprise architectural framework methodologies (i.e. TOGAF, DoDAF)
Familiarity with containerization and related technologies (i. e. Kubernetes, Rancher, Docker)
Experience with virtualization (i.e. ESXi, Nutanix)
Familiarity with cloud architecture, service categories and deployment models

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
