Cybersecurity Penetration Tester- Mid Level

Responsibilities:
- Lead multi-skilled test teams to conduct system security analysis and identify vulnerabilities.
- Support the 48th Cyberspace Test Squadron in planning and executing cybersecurity developmental and operational testing for major DoD programs.
- Develop and implement test strategies for cybersecurity testing on DoD systems.
- Manage cybersecurity professionals, providing direction and guidance to meet testing requirements.
- Plan and coordinate system security analyses to uncover vulnerabilities in systems or software.
- Oversee cyber test events, including planning, coordination, execution, analysis, and reporting.
- Align testing policies and procedures with Air Force cybersecurity standards.
- Document and communicate test results effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Stay current on emerging cybersecurity threats and trends, updating testing plans accordingly.
- Collaborate with Air Force stakeholders, including leadership, technical personnel, and vendors.
Qualifications:
- Education: Technical Bachelors degree or equivalent experience.
- Experience: 3–10 years in cybersecurity or related roles.
- Clearance: Active Secret clearance required, with eligibility to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance (U.S. Citizenship required).
- Certifications:
- DoD IAT Level III certification (e.g., CSSP, CASP+) required within six months of employment.
- Skills & Knowledge:
- Familiarity with Aircraft, Weapon, Cloud, or Traditional Internet Protocol system architectures/avionics.
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity testing methodologies, tools, and frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
- Proficiency in penetration testing, vulnerability scanning, and risk assessments.
- Excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Ability to work effectively in small and large team environments.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
- Availability for travel up to 15–20 weeks annually, including international locations
- Preferred:
- Experience creating detailed test reports that exceed client expectations.
- Familiarity with industry standards such as SOC 2.
- Demonstrated passion for cybersecurity and mission-critical systems.
