Position Summary
Operate either the NEB, OMA and/or TMW 24/36 braiders and monitor for proper product quality
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Pull tooling and materials according to manufacturing specifications for applicable machine(s), such as springs, braid rings, tube guides, wound bobbin, core tube, etc.
Inspect tooling before using and track material used in WW3 system and Braider Logs
Set up applicable machine(s) according to manufacturing specifications (braid ring height, install tube guide, change deck/puller gear, unload/load carriers, unload/load bobbins, etc.) and span defectsew preforms with the correct tape color
Measure and record OD and pitch on Hose Process Chart (SPC)
Run braided hose through wash tank and stage in hose coiling area for inspection
Maintain work area in clean and orderly fashion, follow 5s practices
Know and practice all safety regulations and quality guidelines
Report production issues to Direct Lead
Perform work of an equal or lower classification

Notify management of unsafe conditions or practices, unlawful activities and activities which present unreasonable health and/or environmental risk. Report all safety and/or environmental incidents to management immediately.
Prevent excess waste of product and/or components by operating the equipment in an efficient manner.
- Participate in peer-based teams (i.e., Natural High Performance Teams), and work with groups to initiate and implement programs such as Lean Manufacturing and 5-S.
Other duties may be assigned at a later time.
Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education required: | High School diploma or GED |
Experience: | Production work preferred but not required |
Preferred Skills/Qualifications: | Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills Basic knowledge and use of hand tools Sound decision making skills Good math, reading, writing skills Demonstrated mechanical aptitude Strong trouble shooting skills Be able to exercise continuous mental, visual, and audio attention Ability to work well in a team environment

The employee may be subject to:
Work in areas where safety equipment will be required (steel toe shoes, eye protection, hearing protection)
Standing is required for extended periods of time. Walking, pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, turning, twisting, squatting, and lifting is performed on a regular basis
Requires high degree of manual dexterity, which could be performed under restrictive conditions
Requires flexible hours and short notice for overtime.
The employee may be required to follow other job-related instructions and to perform other job-related duties as requested, subject to all applicable state and federal laws.
