PCC Airfoils – SMP manufactures military and commercial turbine blades and vanes for aircraft and land-based applications using different materials and super alloys composed primarily of nickel and cobalt to cast the blades and vanes for gas turbine engines. SUMMARY
The co-op student will work on projects and will have responsibilities to supplement their knowledge and experience in the Engineering field. The projects and assignments will become increasingly challenging with each subsequent rotation. Our goal is to provide an effective learning experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include:
- Applying principles learned in school to hands-on situations, such as process and product design.
- Having responsibility for accomplishing performance goals
- Receiving progressive responsibility in process and /or product engineering throughout your co-op experience.
- Identifying and recommending process improvements for specified projects.
- Attending regular departmental meeting.
- Attend training sessions, symposiums, and other appropriate educational opportunities.
- Performing or reviewing systems analysis, testing, and documentation for existing processes.
- Taking ownership and responsibility for identified projects.
- Participating on project teams for assigned projects; analyze improvements and new product or applications and develop requirements and specifications with team.
- Working within specifications provided to meet project goals and objectives in a timely and accurate manner.
- Participating with peers, project team members, and other departments on new product development, product line extensions, and product enhancements.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of related engineering discipline functional and technical skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Access
- Good writing skills and interpersonal skills
- US Citizen or Legal Permanent Resident
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
- Full-time student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Materials, Aerospace, Industrial, Chemical, Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering.
