JOB OVERVIEW
KF Aerospace is certified by Transport Canada as an Approved Training Organisation for the delivery of aircraft maintenance type training to its employees and customers.
To support the variety of aircraft types (avionics, airframe, and engines) for which we provide training, we are currently seeking an experienced, type endorsed AME who will act as an ATO Instructor. This role is permanent full time.
The ATO Instructor is responsible for development, review and delivery of ATO training sessions. This position is a critical support role for the MRO. Training delivery needs to be designed and scheduled to be supportive and flexible while meeting operational needs.
Working within the Training Services Group (TSG), the instructor reports to the ATO Supervisor, who in turn reports to the Training Services Manager.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As an instructor, your duties will include assisting in development or update of new and existing aircraft maintenance training materials and providing in class or on-aircraft instruction for endorsement and other technical and AMO training.
Examples of the aircraft endorsements include: Airbus 319, 320, 321, 330; Boeing 737, 757, 767; Convair; DHC-8; Lockheed L382; ATR 42/72.
Course Development
- Working with department Instructional Designers, the incumbent will assess requirements, evaluate, review, develop and implement instructor led training programs and eLearning courseware as required, evaluate course and learning effectiveness.
Course Delivery
- Deliver instructor led department training, including OJT qualification or certification.
- May train and qualify deployed training instructors / staff to allow them to teach locally on technical or safety topics.
HOURS OF WORK
- 40 per week, Monday-Friday onsite Kelowna, BC
- General training office hours 7 am - 3:30 pm
- Flexibility of scheduled hours and days dependent upon training delivery requirements, course development, or travel.
WORKS DIRECTLY WITH:
- ATO Supervisor
- Fellow TSG team members; Instructors, Instructional Designers, Coordinators
REQUIREMENTS
- Valid AME licence (M or E)
- Minimum two years experience in the maintenance of aircraft
- Grade 12 diploma
- Possesses approved maintenance type course or equivalent certificates.
- Ability to travel and conduct courses for Canadian and international locations.
- Familiarity with CARS Section 566 and related training standards.
- Proven interpersonal relationship building, communication skills, customer orientation & problem-solving focus.
- Planning, organizing, multitasking skills and attention to detail are required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
ASSETS
- Experience in Technical Instruction, meeting Instructional Techniques requirements, or has completed the Instructional Techniques course, or can complete the Instructional Techniques course.
- Knowledge of maintenance training, development, and delivery
- Proficiency in – Microsoft Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc., Adobe Acrobat (or similar).
- Strong problem-solving capability, proactive and self directive

SALARY
The salary range for this role KF salary band 9, $73,000 - $91,500 annually. The expertise and technical skill level of the candidate is assessed during the selection process for placement within the band. Note: The salary range maximum signifies full job knowledge.
