Job Title: Structural Assembler
Job DescriptionThe Structural Assembler is responsible for utilizing various drilling devices such as pistol grip drill motors, 90-degree and 45-degree angle motors, and setting up countersink cages. The role requires the ability to use reverse pancake motors, snatch blocks, Winslow guns, and Spacematic power feeds. The assembler must perform the entire sealing process and install and remove various fasteners, including button head/flush hilok/hilite, castellated nuts, button head/flush rivets, blind rivets, and jo-bolts, while discerning between shear and tension fasteners. Additionally, the assembler may conduct hydraulic systems tests.
Responsibilities
- Utilize drilling devices including pistol grip drill motors, 90-degree and 45-degree angle motors, and countersink cages.
- Operate and master reverse pancake motors, snatch blocks, Winslow guns, and Spacematic power feeds.
- Perform entire sealing processes, including fay surface, fillet, pack, aero, brush coat, and dome sealing.
- Install and remove fasteners such as button head/flush hilok/hilite, castellated nuts, button head/flush rivets, blind rivets, and jo-bolts.
- Determine shear/tension fasteners and drill holes true and round, maintaining 2-degree angularity.
- Run hydraulic systems tests if required.
Essential Skills- Minimum of 6 months experience in aircraft sheet metal assembly or structural repair.
- Ability to pass a plate test on Day 1.
- High school diploma required.
- Proficiency in using pneumatic tools, electrical bonding equipment, measuring devices, and torquing equipment.
- Familiarity with tools such as scales, protrusion gages, fastener grip gages, calipers, micrometers, and trulok gages.
- Understanding of calibration requirements for relevant tools.
- Experience with drilling devices and countersink setups.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Experience in using manufacturing drawings (blueprints) to build assemblies.
- Knowledge of drilling and countersinking metal surfaces.
- Understanding of grip gages, Clecos, Hilock/Hilite vs. Rivets, and Bucking bars.
- Familiarity with measurements on a 6” scale and tools used to install solid rivets.

The role is based in a 250,000 square foot facility in Red Oak, where wings for the Global Express 8000 are manufactured.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
