Job Summary
Reporting to the Product Support Manager, the Repair and Overhaul Assembler will assemble products to documentation set and to company quality standards within a specific time frame. Work is performed in a Production environment within our Bedford facility.
As a Senior Assembler, your main responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
- Producing quality work to prescribed standards, with a focus on meeting customer deadlines, cost control and continuous improvement.
- Assembling, modifying, reworking, and repairing electronic and electrical assemblies
- Working from documentation set including wiring and assembly drawings, work instructions, and engineering specs
- Engaging in repetitive electrical assembly and subassembly using hand tools, including powered, solder irons and wire crimpers
- Performing wire preparation, crimping and soldering lugs, basic wire connection
- Operating within standard operating procedures and to quality standards
- Performing other assembly work as directed
- Providing coaching and guidance of more junior team members
- Maintaining a safe work environment by adhering to all safety procedures including those which govern the handling of materials, chemicals, tools, and equipment (WHMIS)
- Using required PPE properly
- Participating in LEAN Events, “Six S” activities, action teams etc
- Performing simple assemblies and hardware installation screws, washers, nuts and have basic understanding of build documentation
What you require to be successful in the role:
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Possession of a High School Diploma and/or equivalent combination of education and related work experience
- Minimum of 7+ years of related work experience within an electronics manufacturing environment
- Experience soldering
- Manual Dexterity
- Ability to pay close attention to detail
- Ability to follow instructions (mostly written, but some oral/visual instructions are provided)
- Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills required
- Must follow company safety policies
- Must be able to meet quality standards
- Ability to provide coaching and guidance to newer assemblers
