Under the direction of the Quality and Operations Director, the Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of warehouse operations, including receiving, shipping, inventory control, and personnel management. This role ensures the efficient and accurate handling of products in accordance with company quality, service, and cost objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead day-to-day activities of a team engaged in receiving, storing, and shipping products.
- Provide input on hiring, performance reviews, performance deficiencies, discipline, and termination of warehouse personnel as well as contractors.
- Assign, monitor, and review the progress and accuracy of work to ensure optima productivity.
- Prioritize tasks, multitask, and provide clear and concise directions to warehouse personnel.
- Maintain and keep employees and contractors up-to-date on all required training.
- Improve staff performance by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees.
- Supervise and ensure compliance with operating procedures for receiving, handling, storing, and shipping of products and materials.
- Coordinate the picking/selecting, staging, and loading of outbound shipments to maximize productivity.
- Operate sit down forklift, order picker, and reach truck. Train team members in the safe and efficient use of material handling equipment, maintaining a clean and organized work area.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of routine paperwork.
- Perform various warehouse tasks, including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping as needed.
- Maintain a commitment to outstanding customer service for both internal and external customers.
- Schedule maintenance and repairs for warehouse equipment
- Ability to learn, train, and insure hazmat inventory is stored/moved properly.
- Manage a cycle counting program and personnel.
- Ability to learn, train, and enforce ES & H standards. Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs and goals.
REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
- Two years of shipping and receiving experience, with supervisory experience preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to lead a team with minimal oversight.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, outgoing, and pleasant.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in computer software, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and internet use.
- Ability to communicate effectively in a noisy warehouse environment.
- Experience operating a sit down forklift, order picker, & reach truck.
- Basic understanding of hazardous shipping laws and requirements.
- Advanced knowledge of ATA Spec 300 is required.
- Adherence to all published FAA, ASA, and Spec 300 requirements.
- Utilize RF equipment for specific projects/programs, such as cycle counts,
- transferring inventory, and locating inventory.
- Process all orders and documents as required for outbound goods issue.
- HAZMAT qualification is mandatory for this role.
- Must exhibit exceptional leadership, problem-solving, multitasking, and
- communication skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Industrial warehouse environment with exposure to varied weather conditions, exhaust, fumes, dust, loud noise, and hazardous materials.
- Frequently reaching with hands and arms, standing, and walking for extended periods.
- Occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, squatting, and crawling.
- Ability to lift and move items of varying weights using proper techniques and equipment.
