Job Description:

POSITION PURPOSE:

The Vice President of Technical Operations (VPTO) establishes the operating plans and standards which support the safe and efficient day-to-day operation of Mountain Air Cargo. The VPTO may serve as the as a delegate for the Company as regulatory Director of Maintenance (DOM) in accordance with CFR 119.65(a) (4) and has overall authority and responsibility for maintenance and alteration functions. This individual must meet the position requirements and qualifications as required by CFR 119.67(c) and 119.69(d). 119.67(c); 119.69(d).



RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
• Assists and supports corporate operations to achieve budgeted profit results.
• Assists with the development and preparation of short-term and long-range plans and budgets.
• Develops and maintains a sound plan of corporate organization in regards to maintenance.
• Directs the development and installation of maintenance procedures and controls.
• Ensures that all maintenance and corporate related activities and operations are carried out in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations; and laws governing business operations.
• Works with Controller to budget appropriate employee staffing, systems, and expenditures for the assigned operational areas.
• Collaborates with Executive team on strategic decisions regarding selection of aircraft and service models.
• Has authority for strategic business decisions related to the Maintenance Department.
• Monitors the safety, security, and quality culture of the company, communicates the importance of meeting statutory and regulatory requirements of all countries where operations are conducted, conducts periodic management reviews, reviews the suitability of policies and procedures, and provides necessary resources and support for the company internal programs and processes.
• Provides assistance and management of the Customer Service departments on a case-by-case basis.
• Directs Department Heads and Managers to conduct all technical operations to the standards required by regulatory authorities and other applicable standards.
• Coordinates the establishment, documentation, implementation, and maintenance of a Safety Management System that supports the company•s operational needs and meets requirements of published standards.
• Ensures a process is established for publication and revision of manuals and other documentation for all departments.
• Ensures that maintenance staff, Inventory and ground operations staff are available for the intended operations.
• Accountable Manager and provides oversight of the CFR 145 Repair Station to ensure adequate staffing, facilities, tooling, and equipment are available for the work performed.
• Demonstrates on a daily basis a commitment to the continuous improvement of safety throughout the organization.
• Monitors maintenance performance against Company policies, procedures, and standards, and provides recommendations to improve safety of operations and productivity of the entire operation.
• Provides overall authority to establish and make changes to MAC policies, procedures, and manuals related to maintenance operations.
• Responsible for the review and approval of employee expenses and invoicing related to the maintenance operations.
• Liaison with outside customers to ensure contractual requirements pertaining to each agreement are executed.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the CEO.



QUALIFICATIONS:
Must hold a current A & P license 121.378(b) and meet supervisory and experience requirements under CFR 119.67(d) and 119.69(d) to be the accountable manager. Be qualified through training, experience, and expertise, and to the extent of his responsibilities have full understanding. This individual must meet the position requirements and qualifications as required by CFR 119.67 and 119.69.



SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to work nights and weekends and have a flexible travel schedule. Must have open minded flexibility and excellent communication skills. Must have industry awareness and have a compatible personality along with strong lateral leadership >



SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

Direct Supervisor of: Director Parts and Inventory, Director of Maintenance (DOM), Director of Quality/Chief Inspector, Director Heavy Maintenance.



TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
Have at least 3 years of maintenance experience on different types of large airplanes with 10 or more passenger seats with an air carrier or certificated repair station, 1 year of which must have been as maintenance inspector; and
Have at least 1 year of experience in a supervisory capacity maintaining the same category and class of aircraft as the certificate holder uses.


WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:
Work typically performed in an office environment. However, due to work requirements, may require frequent travel which will involve exposure to noise, chemicals, adverse temperatures and other similar hazards.
