Job Description:
A vacancy for an Artificial Intelligence Research Project Leader in Trustworthy AI (d/m/f) has arisen within Airbus Central Research & Technology in its Toulouse site or Ottobrunn site (Munich region).
Compensation level: Compensation Level ATA/Class 14, if job requirements are met
The team is the Artificial Intelligence domain of Central Research & Technology composed of researchers and research engineers in artificial intelligence working to develop technologies bridging the gap between research and business. The team collaborates with academics and stir research projects to push the state-of-the art towards solving Airbus-relevant AI challenges.
Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:
- Monitor and assess current AI needs and challenges in the company and scientific breakthroughs in research institutes. Contribute in identifying research opportunities for the team aligned with the Airbus Group research strategy.
- Lead projects (project animation, stakeholder and external research partnership management, procurement etc.)
- Acquire technical expertise and contribute to research within one or more areas of expertise to support ongoing projects
- Advertise team&39;s achievements to R&T board and upper management via technical reports and presentations as well as to the worldwide AI community through publications and patents.
- Support to secure IPR in the field of expertise.
- Contribute to the team&39;s internal and external partnering ecosystem (Airbus Engineering & R&T, academia etc.).
We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:
PhD in artificial intelligence
Experience and a strong interest on topics related to Trustworthy AI, e.g., but not limited to: robustness and confidence in AI model prediction, safe inclusion of AI in industrial systems etc.
Experience in uncertainty-quantification techniques (in particular for deep learning e.g., Bayesian approaches, ensembles, calibration, etc.) is a big plus.
Proficiency in Python and PyTorch and/or TensorFlow.
Ability to communicate scientific results to a wide audience (specialists and non-specialists)
Experience in leading projects and mentoring junior researchers
English level: negotiation level
