Tasks
The Supply Chain Management Expert (SCME) coordinates logistics and communication during aircraft layovers, ensuring material flow and urgent deliveries. As the link between logistics, production, and the customer, the SCME supports operations and provides key updates and reports.
- Monitor/report material consumption ensuring correct allocation
- Coordinate with Production and Central Material Management for on-time redelivery
- Communicate with warehouse on priority shipments, transfers and returns
- Challenge supply rules and suggest process improvements
- Support Production with material requests and sales in resolving material claims
- Manage material flow between customer logistics and LHT units
- Handle exceptions with Central Material Management and logistics providers
- Coordinate alternative sourcing and invoicing
- Trigger high-cost ad-hoc return processes
- Compile and deliver requested info to Production and Customer
- Ensure customer sign-offs and initiate material returns
- Provide input for upcoming checks and JPMs
- Perform additional tasks/projects as assigned

Requirements
- University degree (preferably in economics, logistics or engineering)
- Relevant professional experience of minimum 3 years.
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to think out of the box
- Excellent communication skills and leadership characteristics
- Team spirit, sense of responsibility and very good interpersonal skills
- Computer literate, preferably SAP knowledge
- Flexibility according to workload during the project phases
- Open for frequent or long duty travels
- Ability to generate new ideas and identify potential for improvement within his working area
- High degree of ability to work under pressure
- Experience in process design
- Fluent in English (both written and spoken)

Lufthansa Technik Malta Ltd. (LTM) was established in 2003 as a joint venture between Lufthansa Technik AG (92) and Air Malta (8). The MRO service provider (Maintenance, Repair, Overhaul), based at Malta International Airport in Luqa, provides its customers with line and base maintenance services for short haul and long haul aircraft in the Airbus A320/A330/340/350 series. Initially specializing in C Checks and comprehensive aircraft modifications, the company has now significantly expanded its service portfolio following the construction of a 64,000 square meter hangar complex. The spectrum of services offered has grown to encompass extensive maintenance work with wide ranging capabilities including structural and composite fibre repairs, complex testing procedures and comprehensive cabin refits. The 600 strong workforce can work on up to three long haul aircraft or five medium and long haul aircraft at any one time in the new hangar complex, expanded to cater for wide body aircraft. The hangars are used primarily for C Checks and aircraft overhauls. Lufthansa Technik Malta also collaborates with the renowned Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology (MCAST) for the purpose of training and apprenticeship schemes. The strategically favorable location in the Mediterranean region of southern Europe, with its proximity to Africa and to the Arabian Peninsula, gives Lufthansa Technik Malta a special role within the Lufthansa Group. Twenty years after the companys founding and with more than 2,000 checks carried out, the high quality standards, cost efficiency and the shortest possible turnaround times places the Malta facility at the forefront of the MRO industry.
