This role is responsible for participating in the development, maintenance, enhancement, and support of applications on the Delta Operations Support system. This system supports Delta’s operations including Dispatch, Aircraft Weight and Balance, Load Control, Crew Scheduling and other areas of the organization responsible for the operation of Delta Air Lines.

Essential Responsibilities:

Understand business requirements to provide the technical design of computer software.
Possess programming expertise in one of Delta standard programming languages to develop and maintain computer software.
Develop appropriate software and documentation according to Delta standards.
Support and troubleshoot computer systems as required, optimizing performance, resolving problems, and providing timely follow up on all problems, including on-call support.
Follow Delta standards and methodologies in the development and implementation of computer software.
May perform other duties as assigned.

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or Information Systems or any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training in the computer systems development field.
Previous airline experience ideal.
Ability to work within a team environment.
Experience building computer software within the Airline business a plus.
Experience in developing and maintaining software for a z/TPF operating system.
Must have 5 years of TPF application experience.
Must be able to code proficiently in BAL, Sabretalk and C++.
Must be able to understand and code using TPFDF database structures
Working experience and knowledge of TPFDF, z/TPFGI, and TPF Dump Analysis
Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.
Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.

What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)

Working knowledge of z/TPF REST Support, DFDL, Business Events, and Swagger development an added plus
