Sr. Lean Manager
The Senior Lean Manager plays an integral role in executing the Company’s lean transformation strategy. The Senior Lean Manager is a coach, liaison, lean technician and advocate for the identification and execution of the company strategy. This position is expected to pull from a vast toolbox including lean and project management to develop a culture of continuous improvement through coaching the organization.
Roles and Responsibilities
- The Senior Lean Manager works with the Leader of Strategy and Execution and Leadership to:
- align and synchronize the company’s lean mission in a capacity supportive of business strategy;
- support and execute the process of setting the business strategy and key initiatives and partner with teams to execute those initiatives with a lean mindset;
- assist in identifying and establishing procedures, policies, and strategies in support of consistency and standardization of a companywide LEAN program
- Serve as a facilitator, educator, advocate, consultant, and accountability partner for Lean, driving the understanding and application of Lean principles and tools across the entire business. This includes:
- Collaboration with functional leaders and their teams to develop lean culture and drive continuous improvement consistent with overall company initiatives and priorities.
- Establishing functional transformation plans and leader transformation plans based on the prioritized gaps and developing new or improved process capability through the application of the lean toolset (daily management, etc.).
- Encouraging learning and risk taking for continuous improvement
- Design curriculum, teach and promote lean principles and tools to progress our lean culture and develop capacity within the business
- Practice/role model lean principles and tools
- Maintain proficiency in the latest Lean approaches through networking and participation in the Lean organization within GE; networking and participation with external resources, conferences, and organizations
Required Qualifications
- 10 years of experience solving complex problems and transforming business performance and process through the application of Lean techniques.
- Experience in financial services and insurance.
- Lean practitioner, capable of facilitating problem solving events and coaching the core tools such as Daily Visual Management, structured Problem Solving, Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work and Transactional Process Improvement.
- Proven to be effective driving outcomes in large, matrixed organizations – understands how to navigate geographies, cultures, relationships, etc. Can drive work around the world because they are accountable, trustworthy, credible, committed, and intellectually agile.
