Job Title: SLTS Quality Lead 

Location: Broughton 

 

Summary of Role: 

Reporting to the CS&T Quality Lead to ensure Broughton remain compliant to their MAA & CAA approvals, whilst ensuring compliance to Raytheon’s code of conduct and business practices. 

 

The Quality Lead will deputise for the nominated Form 4 Holders within the MAA & CAA Expositions and will support the duties outlined in the individual Expositions.   

 

They will lead on all Quality aspects in support of programme execution, working closely with the management team. 

 

They will support the SMS Manager to ensure effective deployment of the Safety Management System, fostering an open culture of reporting hazards & occurrences. 

 

They will ensure that a safe working environment, for all personnel under their remit, through the adherence to Health & Safety Regulations. 

 

Main Duties: 

 

Their primary responsibility is to assure that Broughton programmes remain compliant regarding all related approvals. Continue to manage a team and monitor development of the team members and have a proactive approach to identifying and remedying near miss hazards ahead of incidents.   

 

Duties will include: 

  • Review and determine regulatory and certification requirements to establish their impact and relevance on the business in its current disposition and potential or defined future growth areas. 

  • Identify and plan training needs for QA personnel in conjunction with the Quality Functional Manager and the Accountable Manager.  

  • Manage the program budgets within Control Account Management (CAM) tool set 

  • Engage with all levels of the business to identify, manage, and resolve quality issues and concerns (both internal and external origin). 

  • Participate in a Quarterly Quality Management reviewing meeting aligned to corporate / customer reporting, with defined Quality Key Performance Indicators. 

  • Manage and support assessment approval and surveillance of the internal/external supplier base. This includes supporting development and deployment of the audit programme and follow-up of associated action plans. 

  • Provide guidance and assistance on Quality and Regulatory issues 

  • Commit personal time and energy to pursuing improvements and innovations across the business and promoting a culture of quality and safety. 

  • Take personal responsibility to ensure their team is aware of the business objectives and issues facing the organisation. 

  • Actively network across the business to ensure appropriate and effective prioritisation of activities in area of accountability. 

  • Lead the Quality team to pro-actively engage and facilitate project and improvement activities across functional boundaries. 

  • Have a proactive approach to identifying and remedying near miss hazards ahead of incidents 

 

Candidate Requirements: 

Essential: 

  • Must be well versed in AS9100 Lead Auditor 

  • Proactive / Predictive Maintenance Techniques, 8D (RRCA) with sound knowledge of FMEA 

  • Must foster at all levels within the business an understanding of Quality requirements and related subject matter, (Human Factors, Safety Management Systems etc.)   

  • Must have a strong recent background in Quality Systems. Civil and Military regulatory experience 

  •  Eligible for or Holder of current SC security clearance (RSL will sponsor as required) 

 

Desirable: 

  • Knowledge of AS9100/AS910 for future development requirements 

  • CORE project leadership (6 Sigma), APQP deployment 

  • CQI Member/professional 

  • Degree in Quality. Aerospace or engineering or Similar business areas
