Parker Meggitt (Securaplane), a recent addition to Parker Hannifin, is a global leader in the Commercial and Military Aerospace spanets, specializing in a wide range of products including fire and smoke detection systems, extinguishing systems, bleed air overheat detection systems, actuators, rudder pedal assemblies, pumps, fuel gauging systems, and high-temperature cables. Located in Oro Valley, AZ, this site is within the Fire Safety & Power Systems Division (FSPSD) and is a key supplier of camera systems, energy storage products, and security systems in aerospace spanets. We work directly with some of the largest aerospace companies in the world, including Airbus, Boeing, Gulfstream, Bombardier, Embraer, and Textron, among others.

Quality Supervisor
The Quality Team Supervisor leads a team of Quality Inspectors and/or Technicians in quality testing and inspection activities. Ensures that products meet the quality standards of materials and workmanship as set forth by quality assurance, development, or engineering function.
Responsibilities• Provide direct supervision of Quality Inspectors’ activities.• Monitor time & attendance and schedule OT as necessary• Plan tasks and schedules efficiently and effectively• First Article Inspection IAW AS9102• Develop product Inspection plans/Control plans• Schedule and coordinate customer and FAA product conformities; schedule customer source inspections• Review data and information and make accept/reject decisions about Products, Processes, and Validations• coordination of tool/equipment calibration• Maintain 6S methodology in all inspection areas• AS9100 involvement to include internal auditing, procedural edits and customer audits• Close coordination with adjacent departments (Manufacturing, Repair, Engineering and Document Control)• Promote working relationship between inspection personnel and other departments• Leading, managing, and coaching in line with Parker’s values and our High Performance Culture• Use discretion and independent judgment when evaluating courses of action; makes decisions after considering various options• Corrective action coordination and in-depth root cause analysis• Quality Clinic leadership• Customer and supplier interaction (e.g., program management reviews, supplier audits, customer audits)• Monitoring and use of customer databases• Lean Enterprise and Lean Manufacturing tools• Use of Statistical Analysis tools• DPPM daily monitoring and countermeasures• Oversight and coordination of tool/equipment calibration
Qualifications• Education: Bachelor degree in Engineering or a quality-related technical discipline required• Certifications: ASQ CQA, CQT, or CQI beneficial• Years of Experience: Minimum 8 years’ experience in an aerospace manufacturing setting with minimum 5 years’ experience in a Quality-related position. 5 years’ experience in a management role.• Experience with and demonstrated understanding of AS9100 / ISO9001 requirements• Fully versed with AS9102 requirements and effective First Article Inspections• Familiarity with J-STD and IPC standards • Experience with FAA regulatory requirements (14 CFR parts 21, 43, 65,120, & 145)• Training skills – must be able to effectively train other team members. Instructors and trainers must have good communication skills to be able to communicate new and old concepts to adult learners and relay those concepts in a way that is engaging and helpful. Organizing lessons and courses is a part of being an instructor or a trainer.• Experience interpreting engineering drawings, work instructions, processes, and assembly specifications Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, assembly drawings, parts lists, workmanship standards, standard inspection procedures, wiring diagrams and be able to add tolerances using decimals, etc.• Proven ability to plan and direct technical efforts to meet quality targets• Effective interpersonal skills to influence and lead a team• Hands-on, walk-around leader with the ability to motivate and empower others while offering focused leadership in ambiguous circumstances• Demonstrated good judgement to identify and resolve day-to-day technical and operational problems• Proficient in Microsoft Office and database management tools• Analytical skills – need to be able to spot problems quickly and find the underlying causes so changes can be made• Critical thinking – once problems are identified, solutions and improvements must be found. This might involve thinking about a process, procedure or problem in a completely new way.• Attention to detail – as the people responsible for the creation and implementation of quality systems, as well as the people who notice and report on problems, every detail must be noticed and acted upon when necessary• Numerical skills – statistical analysis is an integral part of the quality engineering role• Communications skills – strong written and verbal communication skills are key. Must be able to relay potentially complex ideas to a wide range of audiences – both in personal consultations but also through company SOPs and quality documentation. Ability to effectively handle significant inquiries and/or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, and third-party auditors• Team working skills – working as part of the quality team, and in close coordination with other teams throughout the manufacturing facility (as well as potential for interaction with suppliers and customers) is a key part of quality engineering. the ability to build and maintain a strong and collaborative team of individuals working toward the same goal.• Problem-solving skills – QE III are skilled at problem-solving issues that arise on the job. Effective problem solving often requires staying calm and identifying a step-by-step solution.
Physical Requirements • Approximately 50 sitting and 50 standing/walking about in-door Company facilities• Use hand tools, measuring devices, and magnifying devices (e.g. gauges, calipers, rulers)• Perform major hand grasping and fine finger manipulations using both hands• Perform repeated lifting from floor, table and shelf• Push and pull carts or mobile tables, loaded and unloaded• Read written/printed specifications and drawings• Minimal: heavy lifting from floor or higher, bending, twisting, climbing, lifting arms above shoulders, kneeling• Minimal: exposure to excessive noise, hazardous chemicals, hazardous equipment, uneven walking surfaces• Must have a visual acuity of 20/25 in at least one eye, either correct or uncorrected.
