ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- In close cooperation with our Hamburg based project managers and the ships you are responsible for the purchasing of our cruise vessels.
- Research suppliers from a variety of usual and unusual sources
- Develop procurement and negotiation strategy based on few variables
- Perform moderately complex price analysis based on few variables and confer with suppliers to obtain product or service information such as price, availability and delivery schedule
- Negotiate price, availability, and works with logistics to define transportation and delivery schedule (i.e. ordering and storing schedule)
- Manage supplier performance to ensure consistent service, high quality and low costs of goods/services
- Work independently with minimum supervision and freedom of decision within guidelines.
- Attend trade shows, audit suppliers, visit ships for loadings, repositioning etc.
- During worldwide drydocks of the vessels you will be part of the project team om scene
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
- Commercial vocational training or bachelor degree or equivalent Ships related procurement experience or specialized technical experience required
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions and percentages
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects and priorities
- Negotiation and analytical skills required
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate in a multicultural environment with all levels of employees and management
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel
- Fluent in English and German, both written and spoken
