Raytheon is seeking a Program Operations Manager(s) (POM) for Ship Systems Integration & Sustainment onsite in Andover, Massachusetts for the Aegis/Sustainment Product line. This position will provide professionals with opportunities to grow their skills in operations management, technical operations, business communications, and leadership. This individual will be responsible for coordinating with the Manufacturing Value Streams, and other Functional Partners to ensure successful on time integration of the material and labor efforts necessary to support manufacturing and contract schedules.

This position involves direct support of manufacturing activities and requires spending time in and around Andover and Portsmouth factory areas. The ideal candidate will possess the demonstrated skills and experience necessary to perform in technical, program and manufacturing leadership roles. Successful execution in this role will include driving the overall management and participation in several phases of program development from proposal of new scope, through capture, planning, execution, delivery and close-out.

Duties include, but are not limited to:  primary interface across all operation value streams, lead Operations role for presenting reports to the Customer, and internal Program and/or Business leadership representing Operations performance, the overall management and coordination of recurring and non-recurring manufacturing resources to support program requirements, lead Operations development or execution of Manufacturing plans through various Gate processes and supporting quarterly Estimate At Complete (EAC) and/or recurring cost performance reviews.

What You Will Do:

  • Manage the coordination and execution of program schedules with Global Supply Chain Management, Subcontracts, Engineering, Mission Assurance, and other functional areas.
  • Support Manufacturing Operations strategy development, communication and implementation.
  • Maintain oversight to production material line-of-balance, supplier delivery outlooks and/or delays, and drive action to address material flow issues through the factory in support of production plans to schedule issue remediation.
  • Utilize CORE/R6Sigma best practices to lead development, advocacy and implementation of cost reduction initiatives for both recurring efforts and new business opportunities.
  • Coordinate Operations bids for new development and production proposals.
  • Define clear operational schedules, priorities & goals for each Manufacturing Value stream, thru assessment of workload, and capacity/resources required to generate production plans, Make/where plans
  • Be accountable for Operations execution of all program scope in support of cost, schedule, and quality performance through issue identification, problem solving and operations recovery to plan.
  • Interface with customers to understand customer needs and issues and ensure that the customers receive excellent standards of service.
  • Lead for assessment and determination of scope and timing for implementation of engineering change orders to product.
  • Act as both a representative for Operations to the Program office and/or customer and the interface for program communication to Operations.
  • Support other discrete Program Operations projects/ tasks in support of the SSI&S business portfolio

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a university degree or equivalent experience and minimum of 8 years’ of prior relevant experience, or an Advance Degree in a related field and a minimum of 5 years’ of relevant experience.
  • Experience working with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) / Material Resource Planning (MRP) systems, including but not limited to SAP, Kinaxis, PRISM/CMES

Qualifications We Prefer: 

  • Understanding of manufacturing tool sets and how to leverage information from material receipt through DD250 within a defense contracting organization.
  • Strong business acumen with experience managing Labor task execution with budget and schedule performance responsibility  
  • EVMS L2 Certification and CORE/Six Sigma experience
  • Experience in capital planning (development), MRL (Manufacturing Readiness Level) Assessments, Make/Buy/Where process.
  • Knowledge of using IPDS (Integrated Product Development System).

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
