Job Description:
Aerovel (The Airbus Helicopters Flexrotor Program) is looking for a Program Manager to join our Program Management department based in Bingen, WA.
As a Program Manager with Airbus - Flexrotor, you&39;ll lead enterprise efforts encompassing both the execution of existing Flexrotor programs and contracts, and the proactive development of additional efforts and opportunities to expand our business within existing customer relationships. You&39;ll lead best-in-class efforts to establish, forecast, implement, and monitor activities associated with the scope, schedule, and budget of existing Flexrotor programs/contracts, as well as logistic cost-saving and process improvement initiatives. Concurrently, you&39;ll provide crucial support in developing proposals for program enhancements, modifications, maintenance, repair, and potential offset industrial considerations for Flexrotor, aimed at increasing revenue and maximizing value with current customers. This role requires exceptional coordination across all involved departments; schedule and budget management; tracking and handling of changes; support for contract/proposal writing and execution; and risk assessment and mitigation. You&39;ll play a critical role in driving customer loyalty and expanding our footprint within the defense sector with Flexrotor solutions.

Primary Responsibilities:
Stakeholder Management (35):
Work with various cross-functional teams and stakeholders (e.g., Engineering, Business Development, Flight Testing, Flight Operations, Quality, Procurement, Production, Contracts) to bring projects and proposals to completion on schedule, on budget, and on quality.
Ensure all project/proposal team members understand their scope of commitment, feel dedicated to project goals, are informed of status and next steps, and understand schedule (SPI) and budget (CPI) situations.
Ensure relevant teams (e.g., production, engineering) are aligned and prepared to implement projects resulting from Flexrotor program initiatives.
Maintain comprehensive documentation for regular reporting at Staff Meetings, Program Reviews, and technical exchange meetings.
Act as the primary interface for implementation of programs & projects throughout the Flexrotor team and across other organizations when required.
Customer / Partner Management (20):
Guide customers and partners through the initiation, execution, and close-out processes for Flexrotor program / contract(s).
Focus on customer experience and strict adherence to contractual agreements.
Make the customer feel welcome, actively listen, understand, educate, and inform them to foster repeat business.
Skillfully manage difficult and sensitive situations with finesse, ensuring continuous customer satisfaction.
Schedule Management (15):
Develop and maintain project/program schedules, including predecessors, successors, planned and actual dates.
Make schedule adjustments based on changing project/program and proposal requirements, keeping the project team, customer, and leadership informed on changing milestones and targets.
Responsible for successful on-time / on-budget project/program completion.
Perform resolution and risk mitigation with Flexrotor management team.
Monitor and report on the Schedule Performance Indicator (SPI).
Budget Management (15):
Develop project budgets with inputs from functional departments using appropriate tools.
Verify inputs from functional departments using actuals from previous similar projects and check overall validity of budget inputs.
Adjust budgets based on change orders /contractual modifications.
Gather costs and track budget expenditures, leveraging technical understanding to identify cost-saving opportunities.
Monitor and report on the Cost Performance Indicator (CPI).
Program / Contractual Management (15):
Provide support in the offer/proposal/sales phase for enhancements or extensions of existing Flexrotor programs.
Support sales and offers teams with technical advice (e.g., configuration, compatibility, maintenance strategies, aircraft modifications specific to Flexrotor) for follow-on business or contract expansion.
Interpret contractual requirements for both existing programs and new proposals and solicit feedback from internal counsel as needed.
Provide leadership with metrics in periodic reports, monitoring and improving metrics to easily identify program status.
Coordinate with all support functions to ensure on-time, cost, and quality delivery for both existing programs and new efforts.
Ensure compliance and update internal procedures accordingly.
Conduct regular reviews of performance indicators related to program execution activities and budgets.

Minimum Five (5) years or more of experience in project/program management, including hardware, services, and support with experience directly supporting proposal development or program growth efforts for programs with existing customers
Demonstrated financial experience for budgeting purposes
Technical experience to comprehend complex technical data packages
Proven ability to ensure execution among a complex multi-national and multi-cultural team.
Ability to break down complex issues into manageable work packages, and to ensure desired outcomes
Strong risk management skills, coupled with even stronger planning skills to prevent crises
Ability to analyze complex business processes and solve problems, including gathering and interpreting relevant data and information
Financial acumen to budget activities, including large-scale programs, with ability to perform activity analysis, plan adjustment, and financial control
A high level of integrity and an understanding of the importance of protecting the interests of the company while also assuring customer satisfaction
Technical knowledge to forecast and identify cost-saving opportunities
Proven leadership skills and a proactive approach
Proven ability to handle fast paced environment while maintaining program management activities
Preferred:
MBA
Experience with Department of Defense programs
Flexrotor or similar UAV focus
Experience working within cross-functional teams / matrix organizations.
An understanding of the aerospace industry, basic aircraft design, mission equipment packages (e.g., law enforcement, emergency medical services, utility, military), and design and certification (FAA/military) processes
Experience with Department of Defense programs or equivalent commercial FAA or EASA related experience and either a technical and/or business background in aviation
Proficiency also in German or French is desired

Administrative position only PPE required: Steel-toed shoes are required for all shop floor visits, appropriate hearing/eye protection may also be required when visiting the shop floor.

Salary range:
Salary range based on the required profile: $115,000 - 170,000/year. Actual minimum and maximum may vary based on geographic differential. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
