How youll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)

The Employee Inspection Program Manager oversees key elements of Delta’s Employee Physical Inspection program.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Support the daily operations of Delta’s 24/7/365 Employee Physical Inspection program
and oversee all stations where screening is government or airport supported.
• Manage all screening equipment and oversee screening equipment purchases,
installations, maintenance, certifications, and movements.
• Manage multiple screening equipment vendor relationships.
• Drive the identification, testing, and incorporation of new screening technologies.
• Support the development and delivery of process and performance improvements.
• Develop and drive relationships with airport authorities, TSA, local, state, and federal law
enforcement agencies in order to promote Delta security objectives and lead proactive
security risk mitigation.
• Maintain a current understanding of airport operations, threat landscapes, and aviation
related security issues.
• Collaborate closely with TSA HQ and field on employee inspection and other risk
mitigation efforts.
• Support employee inspection incident investigations.
• Respond immediately to security issues, even when outside of normal business hours.
• Conduct security risk assessments and communicate findings in a timely manner.
• Interface with various operating divisions and stations surrounding security risk
mitigation, compliance, and other program elements.
• Help develop capital funding and annual expense estimates.
• Brief leadership on security incidents and emerging threats.
• Collaborate with team members on special projects as directed.
• Maintain rigid confidentiality surrounding tools/techniques, investigations, and other
program elements.
• Practice safety- and security-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and
procedures.

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

  • Bachelors degree or a minimum of 3 years of experience in aviation security, physical inspection, or similar background required.
  • Prior aviation industry experience is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and manage priorities with minimal supervision.
  • Strong technical, analytical, organizational, decision-making, and problem-solving skills with a natural curiosity and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working with multiple data platforms to retrieve data and identify issues of potential concern.
  • Exceptional ability to communicate professionally through oral and written means to all levels of leadership.
  • Experience working in fast paced, dynamic conditions while exceling under pressure in critical situations and meeting strict deadlines.
  • Flexible and adaptable to a fluid and challenging environment.
  • High degree of self-discipline, initiative, and drive, and function well under budgetary, operational, and time constraints.
  • Exceptional understanding of and experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Frequent domestic travel is required, international travel may be required.
  • Performing satisfactorily in current position.
  • Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
  • Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.
  • Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.

  • Prior experience overseeing physical inspection operations is preferred.
