As Bielsko Biala Plant Quality Leader you will demonstrate accountability and leadership for functional, business, and broad company objectives. In this role you will be responsible for consolidating, leveraging the Daily Shop Management process, the Avio Aero Quality Mindset, based and focused on Lean and Continuous Improvement and for developing and deploying the ‘Zero Defect’ Culture, in accordance with the corporate strategy. You will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional area(s) of expertise, be involved in long-term planning, and contribute to the overall business strategy.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Act as consultant (as a recognized authority) to the quality, manufacturing and engineering organizations to improve Quality and Manufacturing processes, improve product design

  • Promote a cultural transformation aimed at creating a "zero defects" mentality and with deep awareness of flight safety

  • Lead the Quality organization and technical activities related to Product Quality and Process Compliance

  • Present product/program strategies, technical roadmaps, risks and recommendations to senior leaders  across GE. Input and influence decisions within own discipline and area

  • Provide technical leadership on problems identification as well as on generation of countermeasures for all issues related to product and process improvement and compliance

  • Interface with design engineering, projects, assembly, and vendors to assure requirements are met on time meeting specifications

  • Manage generic manufacturing process programs and lead area in pursuit of state-of-the-art technology and processes that will enhance organization’s production

  • Lead technical efforts in inventory control, manufacturing losses, and overall shop costs

  • Prioritize and implement multiple concurrent process improvement projects to drive customer satisfaction and business productivity

  • Oversee evaluation of test equipment, precision measurements, accuracy measurements, and performance testing

  • Collect, organize, monitor and report to all levels of the organization on Quality KPIs

  • Lead the effort to develop and implement plans to meet customers requirements for product quality, cost and delivery

  • Drive initiatives to maximize employees’ contribution in driving improvements in product quality and services while ensuring all Quality functions are staffed and well trained to perform their duties effectively

  • Lead technical efforts in manage customer disruptions, inventory control, manufacturing losses, and overall shop costs

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering, ideally Aeronautic/Aerospace

  • Significant experience in Quality Manufacturing / Product, ideally in the aeronautical field

  • Experience as People Leader

  • Ability to analyze and resolve problems (5W, TOPS8D, bow tie, …), attitude to coach others in define problem appropriately and methodologically solve them

  • Proven experience in driving turnaround in complex contexts, translating previous experiences in flexible support for the environment, master in agility, resilience and flexibility

  • Strong leadership both on the team and versus leadership roles

  • Fluent in Polish and English

  • Work Visa, in accordance with local regulation, is required

  • Attitude to deal with high pressure situations, deal with conflict, ability to negotiate, strong change management skills

  • A great resilience is required to keep leading a transformational roadmap

  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects and ability to incorporate lessons learned

  • Established project management skills, with proven success on the field
