We are partnered with a Part 135 operation to find a Director of Maintenance. The Part 135 Director of Maintenance (DOM) will oversee all aspects of maintenance for the company's fleet of aircraft, ensuring that operations remain in full compliance with FAA regulations and company standards. This role includes managing a small, skilled maintenance team and being available on-call as necessary to address maintenance issues. The DOM will also actively participate in hands-on maintenance work when needed. The ideal candidate should have previous experience with FAA Part 135 operations, leadership skills, and a strong mechanical background.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage a small team of maintenance technicians. This includes scheduling, training, and assigning tasks to ensure that maintenance is completed efficiently and effectively.
- Be on-call as needed to handle aircraft issues during flight operations, ensuring minimal downtime and operational continuity.
- Perform or assist with hands-on maintenance, repairs, inspections, and troubleshooting as needed, especially in emergency or high-priority situations.
- Ensure that all maintenance activities are properly documented, and maintenance logs are up to date and comply with FAA regulations.
- Maintain a strong safety culture by ensuring that all maintenance work is done in adherence to safety procedures and regulations. Monitor the performance and condition of aircraft to prevent unnecessary delays.
- Manage relationships with external maintenance service providers, ensuring quality and cost-effective solutions are provided as needed.
- Ensure that all aircraft receive required inspections and certifications in accordance with FAA regulations.
- Ensure that all maintenance records and documents are meticulously maintained and available for review by the FAA and other authorities.
- Identify and recommend improvements to maintenance operations and practices to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance safety.
