Job Description:

Amentum is currently seeking a qualified Night Shift Supervisor 1 at our NAS Lemoore, CA site.

Supervises and coordinates activities in accordance with negotiated contracts, Statement of Work (SOW), and company policies and procedures. This candidate must have the ability to work in a team of support personnel to meet operational objectives.  They will track seniority, leave requests, promotions and issue disciplinary actions. Ensures safety violations are fixed on the spot. Ensure employees are working within the confines of the contract for assigned work.  High level of accuracy and attention to detail is essential. Perform all other position-related duties as assigned or requested.

Uses customer/corporate enterprise systems such as OOMA to identify deficiencies, trends and implements corrective measures, and improves processes to enhance mission effectiveness and efficiency. Reports directly to Night Shift operations manager, Collaborates and coordinates efforts with Mechanic 3’s in Maintenance Control, Mechanic 2’s in Quality Assurance and Safety, and ensures project priorities are within current standard operating procedures, may be required to update spreadsheets, work instructions, flow charts, and plans relating to assigned areas of responsibility.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum of (2) years as an Office Manager with Supervisory experience.

  • Basic knowledge of California labor laws and OSHA standards required.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety orders, operations and maintenance instructions, and maintenance procedure manuals.

  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

  • Ability to communicate at all levels effectively before management, customers and employees involved in organization, excellent customer service skills are required

  • Ability to take initiative and work with minimal supervision is required and to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.

  • Must be able to meet physical requirements associated with and/or pass medical examination requirements related to performing daily assigned tasks.

  • Ability to make sound decisions and have strong interpersonal skills while representing the company in a positive manner at customer meetings.

  • Typical flight line environment with the normal hazards, occasional lifting up to 20 pounds, 40 of the position will consist of sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must possess planning/organizing skills and must be able to work under deadlines.

  • Walking active flight line and active on aircraft work maintenance areas,  
    must be available for the night shift, and willing to work weekends and other hours as needed.

  • Candidates must have a valid Drivers License.

Performance Standards:

  • Sets and models standards. Demonstrates leadership by modeling desired behaviors appropriate to the work environment.

  • Prioritizes and schedules assignments to meet nightly priorities.

  • Continually monitors program performance and takes appropriate action promptly.

  • Performs all assigned duties in accordance with established policies, procedures, and directives.

  • Displays courtesy and skill in dealing with program personnel and customers.

  • Must communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. 

  • Follows up on suspense items to ensure timely completion.

  • Consistently produces quality products and service. Ability to work independently while maintaining quality performance.

  • Must follow prescribed standards of dress, hygiene, and conduct while representing Amentum.

  • Resolves problems promptly with minimal adverse impact on functional operations.
