Roles and Responsibilities
The New Technology and Opportunity Leader will demonstrate leadership in communicating business, program, and process goals for the technology portion of the business. In this role, you will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional area(s) of expertise, and be involved in long-term strategy planning.
In addition, you will:
Lead Engine Starting Products Technology aspects of the Strategy Review and MGPP/MGTP through collaborative efforts with Product Line Leadership
Lead TRL/MRL process rigor.
Ensure clear communication and integration with interfacing corporate organizations (GRC, Industry working groups, GE Aerospace teams, etc.)
Collaborate with Sales and Product Line leadership on technical interchanges with customers with the goal of receiving additional engineering and technology opportunities.
Be involved in customer technical interchange meetings to get voice of the customer. Present out our technologies to customers in these meetings.
Lead schedule and budget estimating activities relative to new technology projects
Coordinate resource and hand-off strategies with NPI sub-section managers
Collaborate with Supply Chain teams in development of project expectations and execution, as well as ultimate requirements for new manufacturing processes, materials, and equipment
Drive execution on advanced technology projects in alignment with strategic roadmaps
Oversee funding allocation, scope, and delivery of technology efforts performed by outside organizations (GRC, GE, etc.)
Participate in the development of strategic roadmaps for each mechanical product area team
Collaborate with GE Aerospace’s other technology leaders on interpreting research & development opportunities. Assist in business decision making regarding platform R&D opportunities.
Participate in and lead collaborative teams to develop new technology through Technology Readiness Level 6
Participate as a reviewer in technical and program reviews
Provide technical leadership to personnel supporting the assigned project
Mentor and give guidance to less experienced engineers
Support other GE businesses, suppliers, and internal / external customers
Serve as a recognized leader in defining the state of the art in order to anticipate, develop and apply technology to current and future business opportunities
Protect the Intellectual Property rights of the Company
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma/GED with at least 9 years of engineering experience)
Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience
