Job SummaryThis position is accountable for leading, establishing and implementing all aspects of corporate Performance and Succession Management programs to support NAV CANADA’s strategic direction and purpose with defined outcomes, and measurable business impact.

Individual is responsible for establishing programs and practices that provide for consistency in the alignment of individual goals to business strategy, performance evaluations and succession planning. The role encompasses fostering transparency of the related programs and practices, effective application, analysis and monitoring for optimal results and improvement opportunities.

Through leadership, expertise and execution, the incumbent drives an integrated approach towards enhancing overall organizational performance and employee experience. Through strategic planning and talent assessment expertise the incumbent contributes to the sustainment of a robust leadership pipeline for key roles, driving the long-term success of the organization.

In this role you will:

  • Lead development and implementation of organization’s performance and succession management programs that aligns with organization&39;s strategic goals and future talent needs
  • Cultivate relationships with internal stakeholders and leaders in order to build rapport as a trusted partner for performance and succession management programs and practices.
  • Foster transparency of programs and practices to enhance accountability, trust, continuous improvement and development, and enhanced employee experience across the organization.
  • Partner with Corporate Planning and Performance organization to ensure a comprehensive performance management strategy aligned with the organization&39;s strategic direction.
  • Partner with various HR teams to plan for, implement and integrate performance management and succession planning programs and initiatives.
  • Evolve performance and succession management programs and practices by incorporating leading trends, tools and practices toward elevating organizational performance and employee experience.
  • Conceptualize, recommend, and launch transformative performance management programs and practices that provide a consistent approach and employee experience across the organization.
  • Evaluate and define requirements for implementation of technology as an enabler for performance and succession management activities.
  • Utilize data analytics to assess current state and further needs; provide regular performance and succession reports, insights and recommendations to Senior Leaders based on related data; and implement continues improvement to programs, processes, and practices.
  • Provide team leadership to the Performance and Succession Management team involving direct reporting relationships, matrix reporting relationships and contractors
  • Define and prioritize team’s objectives with action plans, resources, and performance indicators, while evaluating and monitoring performance and development goals
     

What you bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in Business Administration, Human Resources or related field OR a suitable combination of training and experience
  • CHRP or CHRL certification is an asset.
  • 5 years &43; experience in planning, managing and leading projects or initiatives applying strong change management and project management skills
  • 3 years &43; experience to plan, organize and prioritize the workload of a team along with leading high performing teams
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking capability and business acumen with experience as a strategic HR business partner
  • Significant experience with development and execution of HR strategies and programs
  • Experience with writing and proposing business cases with well thought out recommendations to support the viability and sustainability of the value of all programs and initiatives
  • Comprehensive understanding of all aspects of the Human Resources function.
  • Knowledge of HR and leadership industry trends and core practices in performance management and succession planning practices.
  • Thorough understanding of corporate strategy within and beyond HR and application of that knowledge toward programs and practices that are aligned and integrated.
  • Know-how in being a leader-by-influence, a strategist and cross-functional contributor to all areas of the business.
  • Knowledge of utilizing key data toward providing well thought out recommendations and advice.
  • Bilingual (English and French), or willingness to learn the other official language.

Working Conditions:

  • This position is based at the Ottawa Head Office, it is classified as a Hybrid position and is eligible for a flexible work arrangement.
  • Occasional travel required.
