Primary Objective of the Position:
The Manager, Complex Records is responsible for maintaining records of our complex component inventory. Ensure all data is captured during the shop events, purchasing and aircraft import / export from our fleet. Complex components are defined as engines, auxiliary power units (APU), landing gear and thrust reversers.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
• (HTC) and Life Limited Part (LLP) tracking.
• Direct communication with Engineering / Powerplant engineer on constant basis.
• Support the evaluation process for acquisition of complex parts.
• Prepare data packages for shop visits and update records post shop visits.
• Update maintenance system (CORE) for aircraft removal and installations of complex parts to ensure all HTC and LLP tracking is in compliance.
• Track and maintain records for Airworthiness Directive (AD) and Service Bulletin (SB) compliance.
• Ensure supporting documentation is maintained for modifications and non-OEM repairs.
• Provide entry-to-service support as required.
• Maintain Fleet Configuration reporting and report distribution.
• Provide support of investigations resulting from any quality escapes, incidents, accidents or reported hazards through the Maintenance Irregularity Reporting (MIR) / Safety Management System (SMS) Programs.
• Ensure all mandatory and regulatory tasks on complex parts are accomplished within the specified time limits.
• Liaise with Engineering, MCC, Planning and Quality Assurance or other Cargojet departments to resolve discrepancies.
• Participate and advise for budgetary requirements.
• Support asset allocation plan with Senior Manager Planning.
• Providing feedback to the Senior Manager Planning along with the VP of Maintenance Operations about opportunities to streamline, optimize and reduce costs.
• Facilitate and participate in review, cross department alignment and team meetings.
• Responsible for your training and the training of the direct reports, ensuring employees remain current with all technical and regulatory training requirements to function in their assigned role.
• Ensure compliance with Safety Management System (SMS) and safety / security policies, procedures and standards.
• Ensure a clean and safe workplace for team members.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
• Demonstrates an understanding of safety issues and actively support the Safety Management Systems program as required by Transport Canada.
• Emerging Leadership Skills, the ability to coach and grow team effectively.
• Knowledge with computer assisted maintenance software and aircraft tracking development, support and improvement.
• Effectively communicate in writing and in person with internal/external stakeholders.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and key stakeholders in other departments.
• Organize/prioritize workload and ensure efficient use of time to achieve all objectives within deadlines.
• Achieve service level agreements with internal and/or external customers.
• Detail-oriented, able to multi-task and work well under pressure.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Minimum 5 years experience in either Aircraft Records, Maintenance Planning or Engine Management.
• High School Diploma or general education diploma
• Successfully completed Basic Aircraft Maintenance Training from a Transport Canada Acceptable Training Organization and asset.
• Excellent knowledge of the airline operational environment.
• Excellent working knowledge with MS Office and Adobe programs.
• Good working knowledge of airline standards and regulations.
• Knowledge of Line Maintenance and Heavy Maintenance aircraft check procedures and requirements, an asset.
• Previous acting assignments/exposure in above areas an asset.
