Job SummaryThe Communications Manager will be responsible for developing, executing, and advising on comprehensive communications strategies and initiatives that align to NAV CANADA’s broader corporate direction, foster employee engagement, promote company goals and initiatives and considers company reputation from both an internal and external perspective.

This position reports to the Manager, Strategic Communications, and will lead a team of communications professionals to ensure the delivery of clear, consistent, and impactful messaging across a variety of channels and audiences.

In this role you will:

  • Develop, implement, oversee, and advise on the implementation of integrated communication initiatives, strategies, plans, and products that promote the understanding of company initiatives and goals, align with corporate direction, enhance brand and reinforce company values and objectives.
  • Guide strategy and key messaging behind campaigns for diverse channels, including associated budgets and resources.  
  • Oversee and contribute to the creation, distribution, publishing, and delivery of communications initiatives and strategies and/or collateral for various platforms, including digital signage, newsletters, social media, corporate websites, presentations, print products, key messages, FAQs, etc.
  • Engage, collaborate, cultivate, and manage relationships with cross-functional and regional business partners and stakeholders to ensure alignment of messaging. Ensure the collection of metrics and analyze performance to evaluate effectiveness of campaigns and optimize strategies for maximum return on investment. 
  • Mobilize, guide, coach, and develop team members on practices and processes related to communications.
  • Assist on occasion with other communications duties as directed by the Manager, Strategic Communications. Stay informed on corporate direction, employee engagement best practices, ANSP and broader aviation industry trends to tailor strategies that address sector-specific challenges and opportunities, evolving employee needs and enhance communication effectiveness.
  • Manage vendor relationships, including briefing of professional service providers on creative or business requirements to ensure successful delivery of products/services.

What you bring:

  • Post secondary education in public relations, communications, journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • 7&43; years of experience in communications, with emphasis on strategic or employee communications.
  • Experience managing, developing, and implementing comprehensive and/or sensitive communications strategies in complex and dynamic environments.
  • Experience planning and coordinating heavy and changing workloads.
  • Experience providing communications advice and recommendations to clients and senior management on complex files.
  • Experience in establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships.
  • Experience managing and working with vendors (e.g., agencies, writers, graphic designers, etc.)
  • Experience developing presentation materials and presenting to clients/stakeholders/executives.
  • Experience supervising staff in the development or implementation of communications strategies and products, as well as the mentoring, coaching, and development of staff.
  • Experience with event planning.
  • In-depth knowledge of communications planning, communications practices, and the use of communications in business environments.
  • Knowledge of communications project management practices.
  • Knowledge of managerial practices and approaches.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Suite of products and their uses.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, digital photography, videography, and other multimedia products for use in the delivery of communications to audiences.
