FAA and customer quality interface; AAR representative for the Aerospace Standards responsible for all aspects of Quality Assurance at AAR Component Services – Hot Springs; provides management oversight for the quality organization and the engineering department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • ·         Review analyses of activities, costs, operations, and forecast data to determine department or company progress toward stated goals and objectives
  • ·         Assure that personnel have access to company policies and procedures as applicable
  • ·         Assure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements
  • ·         Management of the Technical Publications Library; assuring that the necessary technical data is available and current for the work to be performed
  • ·         Assure adequate resources are available to the Quality Department
  • ·         Continually monitor the effectiveness of the quality system and the performance of quality personnel within the organization and ensuring that their training needs are met
  • ·         Assure the effectiveness of the calibration system
  • ·         Chair management review meetings to review the effectiveness of the Quality Management System and to establish changes necessary for attaining company objectives and customer satisfaction
  • ·         Assure that repair station certifications are maintained and current
  • ·         Make application to the local F.S.D.O. office for repairman certificates when required
  • ·         Make application to the local F.S.D.O. requesting changes to repair station ratings as applicable.
  • ·         Submit reports of defects or un-airworthy conditions to the FAA and operators as applicable
  • ·         Collaborate with other management personnel in formulating and establishing company policies, operating procedures, and goals
  • ·         Manage to fiscal budget
  • ·         Other various duties as necessary or assigned
  • Supervisory Responsibilities 

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Job Requirements:
  • Ten or more years of major professional accomplishments including increasing responsibility and leadership of quality programs and teams of considerable size, scope and complexity for seven or more years. 
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the described role and responsibilities and obtain the desired results. Knowledge of the product(s) and MRO operations that would typically be obtained through a bachelor’s degree and/or progressive career experience.
  • Demonstrated teamwork and team building skills in producing results and meeting organizational objectives. Capable of assessing and developing individual and team skills and capabilities.
  • Able to create and maintain enthusiasm for new and challenging goals. Serve as a role model by promoting new ideas and positive change.
  • Current knowledge of the latest technology, productivity and quality measurements, and material/planning systems requiring continual review of methods to optimize productivity.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Candidates who possess a Level 3 NDT certification will be given preference.
