Job Title: Machine Shop Supervisor
Job Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate work activities for machine shop team members.
- Interface with other departments to ensure customer deadlines are met.
- Develop, recommend, and implement measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and product quality.
- Interview, hire, and train new employees.
- Analyze and resolve work problems or assist workers in solving work problems.
- Maintain time and production records.
- Prioritize work to ensure shop efficiency and productivity.
- Perform shop floor quality control.
- Promote and maintain a safe, clean working environment.
- Promote and implement 5S and Lean Manufacturing practices.
- Maintain all shop equipment.
- Order shop supplies as needed.
- Perform analysis to determine root causes for problems and defects, implementing corrective actions.
- Complete administrative managerial tasks such as annual performance reviews, approving timecards, and managing disciplinary actions.
- Participate in determining the direction and philosophy for the company.
- Manage time cards and time-off requests (PTO) in the company HRIS system.
Essential Skills
- Minimum five years’ experience with CNC equipment and programming software, preferably in an aerospace manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Understanding of tooling, programming, and setup of CNC-controlled Mills and Lathes.
- Ability to inspect work produced using micrometers, bore gauges, calipers, comparators, and other measuring instruments.
- Proactive approach, adherence to quality, and effective communication skills.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
- Strong mathematical skills including ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure.
- Experience with MS Office software.
Shifts and Pay
- M-F
- 2nd shift: 2 pm - 10:30 pm
- $70-80k/year
